Filming for the eighth installment to the ever-expanding Marvel cinematic universe, Thor: The Dark World, will officially start tomorrow. Although, action won't take place until next week at the “fictional village,” where a battle between two kingdoms will ensue, built for the production in Bourne Wood, England. And showcasing set preparations at the location being near-complete, photos via Wayne Howes and various others have surfaced.

The first four photos below were taken earlier this week, while the others that follow were taken just yesterday.

Also, the star behind the God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, attended last night's GQ Men of the Year Awards in London, where he was awarded the International Breakthrough award. Pictured beneath the set photos, the 29-year-old Aussie actor was sporting a full beard seemingly in preparation for the Marvel sequel.

Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor: The Dark World” follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.

“Thor: The Dark World” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Rene Russo, with Alice Krige & Kat Dennings. And Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. From a screenplay by Don Payne and Robert Rodat, “Thor: The Dark World” is set for release on November 8, 2013.

The first one wasn't bad but really excited for this one. I assume this means Ironman 3 filming is done or is on its last legs

Though i like the actual set pieces for the next film, i just hope it doesnt steer to far off from the look of Asgard from the previous film....for continuities sake.

Looking good. Seems like they are going for a more realistic historic vibe with this movie which is awesom. All Alan Taylor.

Looks like this is shaping up to be on par with Shane Balcks Ironman 3, I could assure you this will be better than the mediocre original we can only hope that the rest of phase 3 would be just as ambitious.

They kinda forgot to dye his beard/eyebrows in Avengers. bugged me. He was pretty strikingly blonde in Thor, but browner in avengers.

lol, when I first saw the pic I only noticed the fade which wasn't too bad, but the mullet to go with it makes him look ridiculous.

I'm worried about Hemsworth's size. While he was still massive in the Avengers, I don't think he was as big as he was in Thor. And maybe it's just the suit but he looks even smaller now.

That said this movie is still gonna be amazing and I'm loving the set pieces. I love the fact that they're using real locations and dressing them up as opposed to all CGI. Gives it a LotR feel to it.
