Eternity, the living embodiment of the universe, was an unexpected surprise in Thor: Love and Thunder. Filmmaker Taika Waititi put a slightly different spin on the character, placing her at the end of the universe and making it so that whoever found her would be granted their heart's greatest desire.
So, yeah, she was kind of like a genie.
We'll leave it up to you to decide whether that was a good use for the character, but there's no denying that Eternity looks fantastic on screen. Now, we have some concept art courtesy of Jeremy Love that shows a variety of different ideas for how she and her home could be portrayed in the Thor: Ragnarok sequel.
As you can see, Eternity's surroundings were once set to be a little more detailed, with various structures and ideas dreamt up for where the powerful being could call home. We'd say the version we ended up with was pretty great, even if it did bring back memories of the Soul World we visited when Thanos used the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War.
In Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel Studios introduced "Love," Gorr the God Butcher's daughter. She was brought back to life when her father made a wish for Eternity to raise her from the dead; however, thanks to that powerful entity, she's now been imbued with God-like powers of her own.
Thor takes the little girl under his wing, and appears to be enjoying fatherhood. As the movie ends, Uncle Thor and Love head into battle with the former wielding Mjolnir and the kid making good use of Stormbreaker.
We're not sure where we go from here, but Marvel Studios might want to consider going back to the drawing board with its Thor franchise based on the reaction to this movie from many fans.
