Amazing THOR: RAGNAROK Concept Art Features A Comic Book Accurate Grandmaster, Hela, Surtur, And More

Another batch of Thor: Ragnarok concept art has surfaced and while you may think you've seen all there is to see, this reveals just how different the God of Thunder's latest adventure could have been.

Thor: Ragnarok was one of the most visually distinct Marvel Studios movies to date and we don't just have director Taika Waititi to thank for that. The studio employs a wealth of talented concept artists and now Aleksi Briclot has shared some of his work on the threequel. He worked on a number of characters, including the God of Thunder himself, Loki, Hela, the Fenris Wolf, and the fiery Surtur.

Briclot shares both alternate designs for those characters alongside shots which heavily influenced what we ended up seeing on the big screen. However, perhaps most interesting is his take on The Grandmaster. Created before Jeff Goldblum was cast, it's a more comic book accurate take than what we ended up getting. Despite that, it's still clear to see how it was used for the finished product.

What do you think of these new pieces of Thor: Ragnarok concept art? Share your thoughts below.

The Fenris Wolf isn't a animal but actually a God that has God like Intelligence and like the Hulk can't be killed it regenerates itself.

So, is the battered Hela concept art??? If so, proof of life?

@CopperCrow - 1st thing I thought also!

@CopperCrow -

I think it's meant to be from the scene after she is shocked by Thor's massive lightning blast - she'd probably look like that and then regenerate.

Though i do think the post-credit scene of Avengers 3 will be the reveal that either Adam Warlock is around after the Infinity Gauntlet OR that Hela is alive and has allied herself with a still alive/imprisoned Thanos.

Lol some of these look a little too evil for the MCU.

The characters looked good in the film but some of those sultur concepts look like they'd be in an R rated movie.

@PeterSparker - 31 but these films are aimed at all ages and some of these concepts look a bit too scary for the young ones. My nephew is 5 and im pretty sure these concepts would scare him.

Very cool concept pieces, but with a very different vibe from the final film. Considering that I loved the final film, I’m fine with what we got.

I do like that high concept idea for the look of the Fenris Wolf, however.
