According to comic scribe Brian Michael Bendis' & Marvel chielf Joe Quesada's Tweets, some sets have already been built. I guess its not a surprise, considering next month is Christmas, and filming begins in January.

Broadcasting live from marvel west. Thor movie meeting with Ken branagh was over the top amazing. Visited the sets! I was in Odin's chamber!

see the whole thing is like Pixar movies....when u first think of it, the idea sounds like itll be dumb or wont work, but it always does. I thought Cars, WallE and Up would flop, but they were awesome, so I have faith in pixar.

thor, i cant imagine it being as bad ass as i want to believe it to be, but i have faith, sweet faith marvel will deliver. oh yeah!

@ kes: that's a bold statement. I hear ya. I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket. I keep thinking things like "if they screw up Cap, then there's always Thor"
Maybe that's the wrong attitude, but I would seem like an Avatard if I went around assuming they are going to be good lol

Im sorry but IM2 next year just isn't going to help any unless there is a Thor cameo

Thor is gonna be awesome. Its becoming a epic like in the ancient tales...its gonna make marvel tons o cash...heres a great question to those who love comics....will this top the first iron-man movie in B.O. sales...ignore the epic sequel coming in May(can't wait), just on the first film...will it match it or do better?

I'm so pumped for this movie its started to make me feel weird. I think Im looking forward to this more than Iron Man 2. Even though I think IM2 is going to be beyond amazing, and Stark is my favorite character, for some reason I find myself dying to see this movie. Maybe its because Thor is going to be so new and different. either way, the whole Avengers franchise is going to be sick.

I think part of the reason everybody is going so ape shite over it is because it is something we have not seen yet in a CBM.

We have seen mutation and we have seen technology,science gone mad, and we even got a small glimpse at cosmic power
but we have not yet seen MAGIC powers.

And the whole idea of a god as a super hero, though it's not new to comic book fans, it's probably got the impact of being something that is unique to your average joe blow movie goer.

Hell most people look at the god Thor as a quaint myth. But Branagh has been sporting that catch phrase "it's about an old Testament god becoming a New Testament god"
In many respects, this is fresh territory.

@Darth: Using my foreplay metaphor, they are also planning to make sweet, sweet love with the fans. It's great when a lot of love and respect is shown for a character many have grown up with. It seems they're actually trying to make a good movie rather than a quick cash in on the name and that's beautiful. *tear* Marvel needs to produce everything, even DC stuff.

If they have enough cameos and continuation it will be interesting to see if they can almost build from one movie to the next almost like a series so each movie they come out with builds from the last one so by the time the avengers comes out it will just destroy all records.
