Sadly, I'm old enough to remember a time when this was the only way you could watch a movie after its theatrical run. Back then, it was a big deal when a big-name movie made its TV debut. Now, it's greeted with a collective "meh!", outside of the handful of people who don't have a DVD player of any kind or cable/satellite television. Thank God for progress! IF there is any worse way to watch a theatrical film than pan-and-scan full-frame picture and with commercials interrupting things every seven minutes or so, I don't want to know what it is!

As for the movie itself, the first Transformers movie was a pleasant surprise. It was a lot of fun, and it wasn't an insult to fans of the robots or the cartoon series based upon them. I hope that the third movie can find the spirit of the first and give us another fun adventure with these characters.

Not gonna happen, judging by the fan reaction as of late.
