Michael Bay Weighs-In on The Rumors Surrounding Jason Statham and Transformers 4

Michael Bay has felt the need to discuss the rumors circulating the internet surrounding Jason Statham and the future of the Transformers franchise. Find out what he has to say and decide if you believe him.

Showbiz Spy originally reported that Jason Statham was the front runner to take over for Shia Beouf and take the Transformers franchise in a darker direction. Speaking on his personal website, Shoot For The Edit Michael Bay had the following to say regarding the Jason Statham rumors:

"No completely false. No 4th Transformers movie even exists right now. Thus no one is being considered at this time. How bout, just enjoy the movie out right now."

-Michael

As previously reported, Michael Bay has stated that this is most likely his last Transformers movie. Based on his response, it would appear that the Statham rumors have touched a nerve, so is it possible that Bay isn't completely opposed to returning for a fourth installment?

Michael Bay felt the need to weigh in on the Jason Statham rumors. Does that mean the door is still open for him to return for a 4th installment?

I would also like to share with you guys the Bay love-fest video showing on the homepage of his personal website. Strangely, no words from Ror's review were used.

Transformers is an entertainment franchise. It began with the Hasbro Transformers toy line, centered on two factions of warring alien robots which are called the Autobots and the Decepticons. In its 26-year history, the franchise has expanded to encompass comic books, animation, video games and films. Transformers: Dark of the Moon has earned an estimated $204,421,287 in North America, as of July 6, 2011, and $281,657,127 in other territories, as of July 6, 2011, for a worldwide total of $486,078,414. On its first weekend worldwide it made $382.4 million, marking the second-largest opening of all time behind that of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ($394.0 million) and the largest for Paramount/Dreamworks. With another breaking record, it made the largest worldwide debut at IMAX venues, with $23.2 million. With $418.0 million by Monday, it crossed the $400-million-mark worldwide in 6 days, matching the record first set by Spider-Man 3 to reach the amount the fastest.

Why doesn't Josh Duhamel just take over as the series' main character? The military's involvement in the movies have made for some of the best scenes!

It'd be cool if bay stays on... I know there are a ton of directors better at storytelling, but bay has set the bar incredibly high when it comes to action... I don't know how many other directors can keep the intensity up...

If Bay says he's not doing a 4th, why would he know if someone was going to continue the franchise. Its not like he owns Hasbro or something...

I read the same thing this morning raymondjordan. But jus face it a movie this successful and with a 90% fan approval rating there's no way they will not have another movie in 2 years. Its like saying I don't want to make a million dollars anymore none of us would ever say that.

I am betting that Bay will do another Transformers film but only if there is a longer wait between films the next time around. He was probably contracted for three, yes? Now he is officially all done. His complaints for the last two movies were in regards to rushing production and being under the impression that he would have time in between to do other films. Since There has been a Transformers movie every other year beginning in 07 I am going to assume that they either continue without Bay and The Beef and churn a movie out for 2013 or Bay will be back and we will see another Transformers a few years down the road. If the studio can find a director that they believe can pull off what Bay has then I believe that there will be another Transformers movie in 2013. Hollywood does not ignore money, as we have all witness it ruin some of our favorite characters and storylines.

Imagine you start your filming career shooting supermodels in lingerie and such....sweet, right?

Then you go on to film small budget independent films like Bad Boys, The Rock, , Armageddon and Pearl Harbor. These films go on to make a decent payday and are praised by a critic here and there.

Then comes along this sweet deal with a toy manufacturing company and a choice Hollywood producer who tell you that they like your "vision" and "style" for action and would you liketo direct a series of movies about a warring race of alien robots that transform into human machines. You get upwards of xxx million dollars to spend and these movies have to please every pencil necked, comic book loving virgin fanboy geek out there.

If I'm Bay( and I wish I was cause he's the [frick]ing man, just not in that phot0), I would give a sh|t about the fanboys...which he did and made a trilogy that I'll buy on blue ray next year.

Thank you Michael Bay! Sorry for all the geeky fanboys who talked sh|t about you on the "Internet" and have never done anything with there lives except talk sh|t about things they think they know about. Because apparently all you need is an Internet connection and all of a sudden you're a movie critic. Peace out Mikey!
