Showbiz Spy originally reported that Jason Statham was the front runner to take over for Shia Beouf and take the Transformers franchise in a darker direction. Speaking on his personal website, Shoot For The Edit Michael Bay had the following to say regarding the Jason Statham rumors:

"No completely false. No 4th Transformers movie even exists right now. Thus no one is being considered at this time. How bout, just enjoy the movie out right now."

-Michael

As previously reported, Michael Bay has stated that this is most likely his last Transformers movie. Based on his response, it would appear that the Statham rumors have touched a nerve, so is it possible that Bay isn't completely opposed to returning for a fourth installment?

Michael Bay felt the need to weigh in on the Jason Statham rumors. Does that mean the door is still open for him to return for a 4th installment?

I would also like to share with you guys the Bay love-fest video showing on the homepage of his personal website. Strangely, no words from Ror's review were used.

Transformers is an entertainment franchise. It began with the Hasbro Transformers toy line, centered on two factions of warring alien robots which are called the Autobots and the Decepticons. In its 26-year history, the franchise has expanded to encompass comic books, animation, video games and films. Transformers: Dark of the Moon has earned an estimated $204,421,287 in North America, as of July 6, 2011, and $281,657,127 in other territories, as of July 6, 2011, for a worldwide total of $486,078,414. On its first weekend worldwide it made $382.4 million, marking the second-largest opening of all time behind that of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ($394.0 million) and the largest for Paramount/Dreamworks. With another breaking record, it made the largest worldwide debut at IMAX venues, with $23.2 million. With $418.0 million by Monday, it crossed the $400-million-mark worldwide in 6 days, matching the record first set by Spider-Man 3 to reach the amount the fastest.
