New Transformers Comic Book Series Announced!

Due to the recent explosions at the box office caused by "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen," IDW Publishing has announced they will publish a new ongoing Transformers Comic Book. Don't worry Bay bashers, Michael Bay has nothing to do with it!

"This is the first ongoing 'Transformers' series for IDW, and there's a good reason to do it now," states IDW editor Andy Schmidt. "These stories are too big and too important to contain in even several volumes of miniseries."

Script by Mike Costa with artwork by Don Figueroa, the new title will set the new "Transformers" universe in motion as two miniseries, "Transformers: Bumblebee" and "Transformers: The Last Stand," spin out of its events in December and January.

"This is the best jumping on point for new comics or Transformers fans in years," said Schmidt. "We're embarking on a whole new journey and an exciting new direction."

Below is a page from issue #1!

Look's like this new ongoing series will kick off in November. Be sure to get to your local Comic Book shop (or click on the Buymetoys.com link to the left to purchase) and check it out. Thanks to MTV/Splashpage for providing the image.

@ GUNSMITH - If you look closely at Optimus in the movies, his wheels split too.

I'd like to learn some more about this before I decide if it's worth purchase. I mean, is it just the recent Transformers from the movies? Are they going to incorporate some "older" robots too? Is this going to lead into the next movie (ie. new robots)?

Could be interesting none-the-less...

Superdog @ Come on man, you gotta admit the CGI was mind blowing in ROTF!!! BORIGINS didn't even have that, that one up on that movie already, but i ain't gonna go on about the rest, whew heh heh.

I'm gonna go on a limb and say that I loved both Transformer movies, and the Wolverine movie. I'll probably like GI JOE as well. I'm not very shallow when it comes to movies, or maybe I am, and that's the problem. I didn't like Dragonball though.

Crapine Borings heh heh, i like that! ; D

Yeah it seemed FOX didn't care about any detail whatsoever and the CGI looked half done, i don't know why ppl defend it, coz if they do FOX will just make BORIGINS 2 instead of a real WOLVIE movie! I only go on about it coz WOLVERINE is one of the favorites, bit like PUNISHER an he got screwed by HOLLYWOOD too by Lionsgate!

Yep, TRADES are the way to go, not that their cheaper but they look good on the bookshelf!

Newavenger4@ I liked it to. Lee77 is just crazy:)

bmanhall@ lee77@ I liked the standard bay stuff in the movie cgi action etc....but the frigen jack black humor was way to much. Talk about not caring, throwing in some stupid juvenile scatological joke just to get a laugh out of the audience is lazy and a sign of someone who doesn't care about the characters or source material. Same thing you guys keep whining on about in wolverine.

i would rather them use the Optimus Prime from the movies b/c honestly he is the most badass looking Optimus Prime that has ever been designed.
