THE BOYS Season 3 Poster Introduces New Supe Team Payback; Trailer This Monday

Prime Video has announced that a second trailer for The Boys will be online this Monday. For now, we have a new poster spotlighting Soldier Boy's (Jensen Ackles) supe-team, Payback.

The Boys' official Twitter account has announced that a new trailer for the upcoming third season will be online this Monday, and we also have a vintage movie-style poster introducing a new supe group known as Payback.

In the comics, these guys are one of the world's most powerful superhero teams, second only to The Seven. It remains to be seen how they'll factor into the series, but we know that Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) was active decades earlier that the events of the show, so there's a chance Payback will be reimagined as a "silver age" group.

Backing up this theory is the fact that Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) appears to be a member of the team - although we suppose there's always a chance he decided to leave The Seven after Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) almost killed him with an Almond Joy bar!

Season 2 of The Boys ended with the death of Butcher's wife and the apparent disbanding of the team. We know they will reunite, however, most likely in attempt to bring down the increasingly psychotic Homelander. Queen Maeve was able to blackmail her rage-fuelled leader into backing off in the finale, but actor Anthony Starr has already confirmed that he will really let loose in Season 3.

It's also been confirmed that the highly controversial Herogasm comic book arc will be adapted, and showrunner Eric Kripke has hinted that the episode will be every bit as depraved as the comic.

Season 3 of The Boys is set to premiere on June 3.

So Black Noir isn’t part of the Seven anymore? He’s in Payback?

@santoanderson - Could be multitasking. Wouldn't be much of a satire of cape books if they didn't poke at characters showing up on multiple teams.

Do we really need another trailer so close to the release date?

Some pictures you can hear, and as I look at that poster I hear '70s action chase scene music.
