The Boys and Scream star Jack Quaid recently took to social media to reveal that he had a small role in Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and we now know the character he voiced.

Mild spoilers for the beginning of the movie follow.

The Into the Spider-Verse sequel actually focuses on Gwen Stacy initially, as we find out what led to her leaving the life she knew behind and joining the Spider-Society. In Gwen's reality, her best friend/potential love interest is Peter Parker, who she inadvertently kills when he transforms into a version of the Lizard and attacks some fellow students during their school prom.

The character only has a couple of lines, and Quaid provided them.

It's a very small part for an established actor, so we're left to wonder whether Quaid might return as this or some other Peter/Lizard Variant for next year's Beyond the Spider-Verse?

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The confirmed voice cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, Shea Whigham, Jorma Taccone, Luna Lauren Vélez, and Brian Tyree Henry.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now in theaters.

I see then, so that was him. I watched the Latinamerican dub so his voice nor none of the others registered for me.

What I didn't understood fully in that opening scene is whether his Peter was too bullied on school that he chose to grab that serum (a little random) and drink it to be able to stand up for himself without always needing Gwen to defend him or he just was tired of being too normal when he wanted to feel as special as she was, implying he figured out long ago that she was a hero as Spider-Gwen, judging by his final moments touching her masked face.

Or he wanted to help her out as a team but it lead to those disastrous consequences.

It would be cool if Gwen and her Spider-People band she assembled end up facing a similar variant/doppelganger (not sure what is exactly the terminology they use here for physically-looking versions, MCU coined Variant and doppelganger became quite mainstream by the Arrowverse) in the next film as they look for Miles in his original Earth or when they eventually go to Earth-42 and face off against Prowler!Miles and that uncle Aaron iteration.

I liked that story line and that they moved through it quickly. The first half of the movie had good pacing. The second half... not so much.
