The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Retired at 35 actor Josh McDermitt has joined the cast of The Walking Dead as 'Dr. Eugene Porter'. The character was introduced in issue #53 of the Robert Kirkman penned comic book series, and his story is intertwined with that of 'Rosita' and 'Abraham Ford' (a role that has yet to be cast). 'Eugene' initially pretends to know what caused the zombie outbreak, but is found to be lying when he crosses path with Rick. There's also a love triangle of sorts between him, 'Rosita' and 'Abraham'. "We're going to tell a version of the Eugene, Abraham and Rosita comic stories, that's what we do," showrunner Scott Gimple told the site. "I love those characters from the book, they are very different flavors of comic book characters than we've seen on the show. We're going to be exploring a lot of different locations. We're at the prison the first two episodes. We start looking at other places in episode three on but that isn't even tied with them yet." What do you guys think of this casting addition?
