Robert Kirkman Teases The Conclusion Of THE WALKING DEAD Season 4

Robert Kirkman compares the progression of the first-half of the The Walking Dead season 4 to the back-half, which starts with the mid-season premiere on February 9 on AMC. Mild Spoilers

Robert Kirkman spoke with TV Guide about where things begin when The Walking Dead season 4 returns in February on AMC. The site reports:

With Carl and Rick out on their own, things will be looking pretty bleak when the show returns. But executive producer Robert Kirkman teases a happy ending. "We started the season pretty hopeful and pretty optimistic," he says. "We'll open our last half of the season pretty bleak and we'll move them to something a little more hopeful by the end." Does this mean that Alexandria is on the horizon?

Will the show find another safe place before season's end? And what will occur with the other members of Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group in their time of separation? There's currently no shortage of questions on The Walking Dead, but hopefully we'll get some of them answered in the mid-season premiere which airs February 9 on AMC.

I wonder how season four will end on a hopeful note and i wonder what would be the bleak scenario after the prison was attack? Maybe the bleak part is a character getting killed off. Hopefully not Rick, Carl or Michonne.

Lord Carl/Chandler Riggs is ruining this show. Same with Lizzy and Mika - wtf do they have to be around? Out of all shows, The Walking Dead, an INTENDED drama show can't even cast roles properly. It's just terrible.

People were complaining about Season 2's slow pace - the season when quality acting still existed on the show, but are praising the hell out of these new characters that come out of nowhere (who are slowly killing TWD) and bad effects?

I never wanted to hate this show. The material just deserves a whole lot more.

This means, Negan will not come before season 6.

@McFarlaneFan - agreed.

Also wanted to point out that 5 minutes into the Telltale Walking Dead is better than this entire show.

LOL definitely agree with the mid-season finale disaster... That Rick/Governor fist fight was intense until they cut to Daryl's unbelievably-ridiculous stand against a horde of walkers, soldiers and a tank.

A TANK.

Funnily enough, out of all the cast members I'd have to say I'm most disappointed in Norman Reedus. The dude was fantastic in season 1 but eventually he just slipped into that "cool/rock star" state that both the writers and diehards (unfortunately) desired from him.

But honestly dude it's not just the kids holding the show back. It's Kirkman.

Y'know I still remember when Kurt Sutter fired shots at AMC - I completely agreed with him. He mentioned how Kirkman can't even control the direction of his own material. I mean look, you could say that AMC are the ones making the bad calls, but from the sound of it Kirkman is just sitting around and letting everything go to shit.

Apparently Abe, Eugene and Rosita show up in ep 10. It's good because they're involvement with the group is one step closer to the hunters showing up sooner than expected :)

@greenlanternsF

But I am ready, glenn has my permission to die. But of course they shouldn't skip storylines.
Until the end of this season, the group will look for eachother and try to survive and then we have the hunters to come.At the end, the group will go to washington.

Season 5 will deal with the Washington storyline and probably end with carls little accident.

Then, we finally will get negan in season 6 and lose glenn, if they stick to the plot this time, unlike the whole andrea bullshit.

I honestly would prefer that they stay away from Alexandria for awhile. In the comics it took them what, 2 volumes to recover from the prison then end up in Alexandria? Turn those 2 volumes into the rest of this season and the first half of Season 5 then I'll be happy. They're time on the road was always more thrilling. From going back for Morgan to travelling to DC would be great to include in the show. The only problem is production-wise. They hunkered down at the farm and the prison for so long in S2 and S3 because The Walking Dead's budget was cut back in 2011 (if you remember).

Oh and man I can't wait for Abraham to appear... Michael Cudlitz is AMAZING.

I loved TWD season 1, 2 was boring, 3 was half boring and half awesome, 4 seems to be the same shit as 3.

i still watch it, could do with a new element thrown in for a bit of intrigue/ variety. The group of people vs group of people scenario with zombies in the middle is getting dull
