Charlie Adlard has been the artist for the comic series The Walking Dead for years now and with all the recent unveiling of production photos involving AMC's zombies, it looks like they took a hint or two from the source material. Much of that can be credited right back to Adlard himself. In a recent interview he mentioned that AMC had been very kind to him but he wasn't involved with the show in any way. It seems he may have been either deceptive, or AMC heard that interview and gave him a call to come down to Atlanta for a cameo. Adlard revealed this bit of detail below,
"Well, I've just returned from the TV show Atlanta set of TWD. What a fantastic experience - I can tell you! Three days of seeing my creations come to life... I felt very privileged," said Adlard.
So how was Adlard involved in the shooting? Check it.
"And one day was spent as a zombie - so thanks to the makeup guys [Garret, Andy, and Jake] who made that experience a joy. They'll still be filming down there for a few more months, so I feel for them in that blazing humid heat - good luck guys! The series should air on AMC in October. My thanks to everyone who made me feel so welcome," he said.
So there you have it - Adlard will zombie up for a cameo appearance in one of the later episodes. No pictures of a gooey zombified Adlard have surfaced, but I'll keep you posted. This news is also humerous as writer Robert Kirkman has said that he has no intentions to do a cameo as a zombie himself even though AMC suggested it.
