THE WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY - Maggie And Negan Encounter Terrifying New Zombie Strains In Full Trailer

AMC has released the first full trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City, and it looks like Maggie and Negan's issues with each other are going to be the least of their problems!

We've seen a few teaser promos, but the first full trailer for AMC's The Walking Dead: Dead City is now online, and it gives us a much better idea of what to expect from this Maggie/Negan-centric series.

The footage reveals that the former enemies turned uneasy allies join forces because the former's son, Hershel, now played by Logan Kim, has been kidnapped. His distraught mother tells the man that brutally murdered her husband (Steven Yeun's Glenn, just in case you put that traumatizing moment out of your mind) that he's the "only one" that can get him back.

We're not sure exactly who took Maggie's son (though it appears to be someone from Negan's past) or why Negan is needed for his rescue, but if a recently leaked set video is any indication, this truce is going to be short-lived!

The promo also reveals that the pair are going to come up against some terrifying new zombie strains, as we get quick glimpses of much faster-moving walkers, and what appears to be some kind of multi-limbed mutant.

Check out the trailer below along with a new poster.

Star Lauren Cohan appeared at a WonderCon event in Anaheim, California earlier this year, and was asked about the shaky alliance between these once bitter enemies.

“It’s interesting, because we see a very unprocessed level of trauma that we know happened between Maggie and Negan. In Dead City, we really get a chance to [ask], ‘What is this? What does it take to move through it?’ And more than anything, it’s a chance for us to be forced together on this mission. The tension and unmovable things are still very present. We’ve seen them intersect so often, but in this show, it’s really this tunnel that they’re trapped in to face things they may have run away from, more so what Maggie has run away from and what Negan‘s presence brings up for her. It’s like an exercise in intimacy with the worst person.”

It boggles my mind that this universe is still going. The shows in this universe overstaying their welcome have really dragged down the zombie genre.

Huge TWD fan but was really disappointed with the way they wrapped up the original show. That said I'll check it out, will be cool to see NYC in this universe and that was a pretty good trailer IMO.

Everyone else got tired of the Walking Dead. I never did. I'm all in for this.

I will watch anything with Cohan.

What a great Red Sonya or Wonder Woman she would make.

I love TWD the last two seasons was a throwback to the old. I’m looking forward to Dead City the Rick and Michonne and the Daryl Dixon spin-offs. Fear the walking dead is just a hopeless mess now. When they started killing off some of the main characters around season 5 it was downhill from there. And from what I’ve seen if the first episode of the final season it’s a good thing it’s dying.

Might be worth watching the first episode, see what kind of vibe it has.

They should have just thrown in another "Dead" to really make the name pop. "Walking Dead Dead Dead City." Much better.
