THE WALKING DEAD Producers On New Cast Members And Slow Pacing This Season

The Walking Dead's showrunners state that the pacing will be accelerated in the second half of Season 2 and new cast members will be introduced.

Here's what executive producer Glenn Mazzara had to say concerning the feedback on the slow-pacing in the first half of season two:

"If there were episodes that felt as if they were stalling or if it felt that they weren't under threat, that perhaps the farm felt too safe and the threats were outside off the farm, a lot of that changes in the back part of the season. I think that things pick up. I think it just becomes more, I don't know what the word is, accelerated. The stakes are higher, more action packed, more interesting."

And here's what fellow executive producer Gale Anne Hurd had to say about additional cast members showing up in the second half:

"I'm excited that we're going to begin to expand beyond Hershel's farm. We're going to encounter new survivors and what does that mean to the group? In addition to the conflict over the leadership of Team Rick vs. Team Shame and the triangle between Lori, Rick and Shane. We're going to encounter people who are survivors that... are they a new threat? Can they offer some sort of salvation?"

Hmmm. Who could be showing up in the second half of season 2? Aside from Michael Rooker, I honestly don't know who it could be as I have never read the graphic novel. Sound off below in the usual spot with who you think it could be!

With the actors and producers have all promised to 'accelerate' the pacing, here's hoping it will really happen.

I happen to enjoy this series and don't want them to force anything. Just tell a good story and have it decently acted out. Beyond that: You can't please everyone (and, as the Resident Evil movie series seems to indicate, some aren't even trying to please ANYONE). But as far as TWC is concerned, I'm in the "enjoying Walking Dead" corner. Nothing's perfect, but I'm enjoying the show.

Team Shame? ha

Anyways... I want that triangle to end.. Too soap opera feeling.. that's daytime crap... let the boy grow as a character and blow the wanker away!

I love the way the show is working out. I hope it doesn't under-do itself. Sometimes holding too much back in the first half of the season can bore people away from the show and even f up the second half of the season.

too early for the govenor. He won't be until season 3 atleast. Michonne will be in the last episode of this season. As for who the two survivors may be....not really sure if they're showing up now.

"I think that things pick up."

Oh, OK thanks. I'm on the edge of my seat now.
