THE WALKING DEAD Promo Stills Catch Up With The Characters 6 Years After Rick's "Death"

As we discovered at the end of this past Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead, we're in for another time-jump when the show returns next week - and it's a big one!

We'll catch up with the characters a full 6 years after the events that led to Rick's disappearance/presumed death, with Judith now a gun-toting badass and the likes of Michonne, Daryl and Carol still attempting to keep civilization alive.

We'll also be getting better acquainted with the new survivors we met at the end of the last episode, and the new threat of Alpha and her ruthless Whisperers.

Below, you'll find a full batch of promo stills featuring most of the show's main players. Still no sign of Samantha Morton as the latest big bad, however.

To view the stills all at once, simply click on the VIEW LIST (ONE PAGE) button below!

Carol And Ezekiel

It looks like these two are still together six years later, with Carol now sporting much longer locks.

In the comics, Ezekiel and Michonne actually hook up. Is that still possible now that Rick is out of the picture?

Michonne

Poor Michonne has really been through the ringer, and it doesn't look like she's taking Rick's apparent demise any easier now than she did after the bridge explosion.

Negan

Negan's had a haircut and a beard trim, but he's still stuck in his cage.

Based on what we see in the trailer, it looks like the former leader of The Saviors will strike up a rapport with Judith. Could this lead to his release/escape, perhaps?

Daryl

Daryl did his best to save Rick but was ultimately forced to watch his friend sacrifice himself (well, as far as knew) to destroy the herd.

Here, we see Dixon take down a walker... or could it be a Whisperer?

Judith

It seems Judith will be taking her late brother Carl's place as the badass youngster of the group. It'll be interesting to see how such a massive deviation from the comics is handled on the show.

Eugene And Rosita

In the source material, these guys actually form a relationship, but it's still not clear if the series will follow suit.

Father Gabriel And Aaron

These two both had narrow escapes over the source of the last few episodes, with Aaron losing an arm and Gabriel almost becoming walker food.

Jerry

Jerry - who is almost certainly still awesome - is pictured here with Carol and the former "King" Ezekiel.

Henry

Though he has his back to us here, this is actually new cast member Matt Lintz, who will be playing an older version of Henry.

Carol

Another shot of Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier.

Judith

Another shot of Cailey Fleming as Judith Grimes.

You know I haven't caught up with Walking Dead in...god knows how long, but even though the show has had a steep decline, I will say it has piqued my interest on occasion. Should I watch it? Is it worth my time to binge on Netflix? Am I ready to dwell into the millionth zombie related movie/show that I feel is dying out? TIME WILL TELL!

The actress that plays Judith looks a lot like Chandler Riggs. Good casting.

From everything I've heard, they might have given a kinda send-off to Rick but the constant gotcha moments in the series are the ones that have me fastforwarding season 7 and 8.

From Beth to Glenn and Abraham time after time they have treated their audience like idiots. That's why they've lost so many fans along the way.

This season has been great! This show is finally starting to get back on track.
And I did NOT think i'd be saying this knowing Rick is gone.

@Himura - I agree wholeheartedly. I had given up on the show after last season. I'm working from home today, so decided to watch this season. Really impressed. It's just ashame they seem to course correct and now Rick is gone. The send off was perfect though, as far as his 'family' trying to save him.

Best season for years and Ricks last episode really got to me, even after I found out they had sh#t on us again with the movie Bullsh#t. Rick should have died. Looking forward to the rest of this season with trepidation.
