Season 10 of AMC's hit zombie drama The Walking Dead officially reached the halfway point on Sunday. With the main series charging ahead, the success of Fear the Walking Dead, the new series World Beyond dropping in a few months, and the trilogy of films to come, nobody really expected Rick Grimes to return to the small screen anytime soon, if at all.

However, showrunner Angela Kang would have it otherwise if she could. In a recent interview with Deadline, this is what she had to say about Officer Friendly's potential return.
"Not this season, but man, I would love it if he did. You know we were talking about having him direct something for a while, but then he wanted to focus on some acting stuff, and he didn’t want to drop out on us at the last minute if something came along, and you know he’s been doing a movie lately."

Lincoln is obviously going to have his hands full starring in the upcoming trilogy of movies, but Kang went on to personalize the sentiment.

"You know, he’s…yeah, the door is always open. Andy, you can come back any time."

With Lauren Cohan returning in the back half of Season 10, Lincoln wouldn't be the first cast member to leave and come back to the show. There was also a big gap early on for Lennie James (Morgan) and Michael Rooker (Merle) from the moment they were introduced to when they returned, seasons later.

What do you think? Will Lincoln actually return? Let us know your thoughts below!

In the fight against the Whisperers, there's no going back.

The Walking Dead will return on February 23, 2020, on AMC.

Anyone heard that rumor that this show might end with season 12. Honestly it makes perfect sense for a number of reasons, the ratings are dropping, and the comic series recently ended and I think it ended just fine.

I know they'll never do it, but the moment they kill off Daryl and/or Carol, the show will finally die. But that'll never happen.

This show is dead to me. Lol I doubt the movies will ever get made.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they ended the show like they ended the comic. No pre-announcement, not marketing build up, just get to the end of a season and go "oh by the way, that wasn't just the end of the season, that was the end of the show".

In a way, it would be kind of cool if they did it that way.

Negan is the main reason I’m still watching, he is just so damn watchable.

Rick is best to me when he goes full dark. My ideal Walking Dead would be a series where Alexandria and all the supporting cast get wiped out by a community as big as Alexandria but full of all the twisted nutters and scumbags, rapists and cannibals. And Judith is kidnapped and Rick and Negan have to go rescue her. Have it be a revenge mission/rescue mission like Liam Neeson in Taken. Negan can be the level-headed one grounding Rick from going psycho, to change things up.

I stopped watching this a while ago. Never in a million years would I have predicted that I could get burned out on zombies. Growing up, zombies were my thing.
