THE WALKING DEAD "The Last Episodes" Promo, Poster & Synopsis Released; Maggie & Negan Spinoff Gets New Title

After 12 years and a whopping 169 episodes, The Walking Dead will air its final episodes starting October 2, and AMC has now released a teaser promo, poster and detailed synopsis for Season 11C.

Although the show rans its course for many viewers quite a while ago, the past couple of seasons seem to have brought a few lapsed fans back on board with a solid adaptation of the "New World Order" and "The Rotten Core" storylines from the comics - even if the show does take some big liberties with the source material.

Check out the teaser and key art below, along with a poster for the planned Maggie/Negan spinoff, which is now officially titled Dead City.

When we last saw Daryl, Maggie, Carol and co., they were preparing the group for the possibility of (another) all-out war, this time against The Commonwealth. If this lengthy synopsis is any indication, our heroes are going to have a lot more to worry about.

"On the heels of the oppressive presence of locusts, an even greater force is bearing down on every single member of each community. With Commonwealth flags raised at Hilltop, Alexandria, and Oceanside, there's no time to strategize for those on the road. It's a race against the clock to stay alive and extract those still living in the Commonwealth before Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) can execute his revenge. Inside the Commonwealth, Connie's (Lauren Ridloff) article has created more chaos than planned. By exposing Governor Milton's (Laila Robbins) corruption, their hope to create a better, more equal, life for all may instead put everyone at risk.

With the vast debt our group owes and no other viable place to live, simply leaving has never been an option. But if their next move fails, staying won't be an option either. "What they're about to embark on will only invite more danger with massive consequences. The clock is ticking for our heroes inside the Commonwealth as well. As each group continues to get caught in uncontrollable situations, threats lurk around every corner, dead and alive. The looming pressure is cresting towards a day of reckoning for all. Will the sum of their individual journeys cumulate into one, or divide them forever? The fight for a future continues to be exasperated by the ominous population of walkers. Not all will survive, but for some, the walking dead lives on."

Season 11 of The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus (Daryl), Melissa McBride (Carol), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Christian Serratos (Rosita), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Seth Gilliam (Gabriel), Ross Marquand (Aaron), Khary Payton (King Ezekiel), Cooper Andrews (Jerry), Eleanor Matsuura (Yumiko), Nadia Hilker (Magna), Cailey Fleming (Judith Grimes), Cassady McClincy (Lydia), Lauren Ridloff (Connie), Angel Theory (Kelly), Paola Lázaro (Princess), Michael James Shaw (Mercer), Margot Bingham (Max), Josh Hamilton (Lance Hornsby), Laila Robins (Pamela Milton), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan).

The Walking Dead: The Last Episodes begin on October 2, with a two-episode premiere on AMC+. Do you guys plan on tuning in?

I haven’t watched this show in a while, but I’m shook that King Ezekiel is still alive. He was always one of the most interesting characters and usually when TWD goes out of their way to make someone interesting, that’s the character that bites the dust.

@HAILHYDRA - He was one of my favorite characters. I sorta watch the show. I start a season hopeful it'll be good then when it sucks I quit then I tend to binge it when I get real bored later. Ezekiel sucks now, he's not a king or anything now except for a useless dude that is there for Carol to have something to talk about for a scene or two. He has neck cancer of something now so his story is about others trying to help him. He's a plot device now.

No interest in the current plot, just eager to see Rick return and meet redeemed Negan. If that doesn’t happen it’ll be a huge missed opportunity.

Every time a new Walking Dead, Sony movie, DC/WB article comes out, everyone is real negative, but say one negative thing about Disney/MCU and you're labeled a troll, mysoginist, bigot, and all the other lovely words soyboys love to use.

TUD - 8/26/2022, 10:37 AM
@IronMan616 - Did you just unironically use the word "soyboy" in the year of our lord 2022? People like you are beyond parody at this point lol
IronMan616
IronMan616 - 8/26/2022, 11:09 AM
@TUD - Well, if imbeciles still keep using the word "incel". Especially the ones that keep defending their precious MCU garbage.

@IronMan616 - So you're mad that people clap back at you for saying something negative? You're that sensitive?

@SonOfAGif - "clap back". lol. Nah, I've got thick skin, just pointing out the hypocrisy around here.

@IronMan616 - Yeah, skin so thick that you can't help but parrot the favorite talking points of rightwing chuds even when no one is talking about them. Cool.
WarMonkey
WarMonkey - 8/27/2022, 7:45 AM
@SonOfAGif - He's got a good point. Walking Dead is a feminist show now and that's a fact. I watch it and follow the news around it, females are in literally charge of everything now, it's a literal matriarchy they have created in that world. So any complaints that people use against Walking Dead and the quality of it's writing and stories aren't unlike the exact same ones others have pointed out about the MCU.

So why is saying "this show sucks I won't watch it anymore" towards Walking Dead legit criticism but to say the EXACT same thing about a Disney product gets you attacked by others who call you sexist, racist, incel, etc etc etc etc etc etc? Where is the hate coming from?
WarMonkey
WarMonkey - 8/27/2022, 7:48 AM
@WarMonkey - Search for Walking Dead and feminism in case you don't believe me. I have same complaints as others against the show but I still watch it.

@TUD - just pointing out the hypocrisy you leftist soyboy.

Btw, I don't care for the Walking Dead, it became too woke, the earlier seasons were great, now though, in the world of the people rising from the dead, they want me to believe a bunch of people that were very likely left leaning anti gun advocates before the apocalypse, have outlived the gun nuts and survivalists, and they're the better fighters and weapons experts? I can believe the dead rising part, the other, nah too far fetched.

My interest in yet another spin-off is so low it barely registers.

I’ll watch a movie, even if its “made for tv”, but I’m not getting dragged back into a long drawn out show that’s full of cliffhangers just to keep you coming back for years.

These ppl have taken a great property and made it a chore to watch

They take the term cash grab to a whole new level, talk about bleeding it to its last drop.. 12 years and more spin-offs are still being pumped out?

Jeez.. smh… no thanks

This show literally is the Walking Dead

’ve been a fan since day one and always will be. I admit there have been some dry seasons and questionable show decisions but what show hasn’t had those that has been on as long as TWD. The last three seasons have been a return to old and I’m very much looking forward to last episodes also the Rick/ Michonne, Maggie/Negan and Daryl spin-offs.

what a misguided IP in my opinion. the comic was was fantastic, but the actors and characters made the show amazing. while I think it was appropriate to make some changes to away from the comics to better serve the show and its characters the huge fork in the road for me was when the show had too many filler episodes, and stopped serving the characters. Some key deaths and decisions happened and didn't happen, and overtime the show just dragged. I only caught some of Fear, but again the character decisions lost me, so I bailed. Overall it's too saturated, and the core of what made the series great is gone. With certain absences, you can tell the show doesn't have the same horse power. I do like Angela Kangs direct over Scott Gimple, although too late, she has helped steer the show in a more positive direction

I dropped the show after they killed Glen but why is Maggie not killing Negan? They are teaming up?
WarMonkey
WarMonkey - 8/27/2022, 7:51 AM
@Dotanuki - She still HATES him! Tried to kill him a couple times but they were forced to work together for the survival of the group. They were on a mission to get back stolen supplies so they and all the kids wouldn't starve. It's the story I care most about right now in the show and it's been well done...for the most part. Maggie is more like the bad guy then Negan now

I suffer from TWD fatigue. I will not be watching the final episodes...ever.
