Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes left
The Walking Dead during Season 9 - with episode five of that season being his last. Shortly after, it was announced that he would be starring in a movie trilogy set within
The Walking Dead universe.
Fans have wondered who could possibly join Lincoln in these outings - with many expecting Danai Gurira's Michonne to be headed there after she leaves the series this season. Previously we only knew that Jadis/Anne from
The Walking Dead would be making an appearance alongside Rick in the films, but taking a look at the three-circle symbol bearing group, CRM gives us a few more ideas.
It was previously confirmed by showrunner Scott Gimple that Heath was taken by this group in Season 7, the same group that picks up Rick in Season 9. Looking ahead at the new series
World Beyond, we see the character Elizabeth is the leader of this civilization - which certainly means she could show her face in the movies.
Considering that the CRM is now linking all three shows as well as the films - we may start to see more connective tissue in this universe going forward. With this show taking place simultaneously alongside Season 10 of
The Walking Dead - could that mean that Rick Grimes was essential in getting the
World Beyond to where it is today and is that what we'll see explored in his movies? They did say the new world would need Rick Grimes!
