David Boreanaz got his big break in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and later took on the lead role in his own spinoff, Angel. Now, the actor has finally broken his silence on those Joss Whedon allegations.

Last week, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Charisma Carpenter opened up about abuse she allegedly suffered on the set of the hit TV series courtesy of The Avengers director Joss Whedon. The actress described her "traumatising" experience working with the filmmaker, detailing his "abuse of power" (like calling her "fat" while she was pregnant and pitting the show's stars against each other).

The floodgates have since opened, with other stars and creatives detailing their own extremely negative experiences with Whedon. Buffy the Vampire Slayer's lead, Sarah Michelle Gellar, hasn't said much, but did issue a statement that noted, "While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don't want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon."

Angel star David Boreanaz initially remained silent, but has now leant his support to Carpenter by responding to her original post on Twitter.

"I am here for you to listen and support you," he said. "Proud of your strength."

Whedon has yet to comment on these allegations, but between this and what supposedly went down during the Justice League reshoots, this might well be the end of his career.

Nice that he supports her, not really much to say, just two sentences. Nothing really to comment on.

Heard he was considered to play Batman in Batman Begins (would be nice to see that screen test)

I’m imaging as the shows went on, and the characters grew more popular, Boreanaz and SMG became exempt from Joss’s “jokes”

Probably witnessed a tone of shit, but are unlikely to speak out in detail to the public - which I respect for their own professional reasons.

Eliza Dushku also voiced her support, don't know if anything happened with her, but she has her own history of abuse (Some seriously [frick]ed up stuff) from the set of True Lies

Wonder how different things might have been if Whedon declined the jl offer.
Must feel like a cursed project for the guy.

@bman263 - Regrets it no doubt, but how could he expect all this not to catch up with him one way or the other? I thought he’d recover after the investigation was over but now...

@bman263 - All of this bad shit started for Whedon in 2017 with his wife divorcing him and calling him a cheater and a fake.

It all started when he took over Justice League from Zack.

@Fanmar16 - they arent oscar winners but they arent mediocre, from what ive heard Sarah Michelle Gellar was a rising star even before Buffy. Left a very popular role on a big show for Buffy

I reallly have admire this cast for putting up with all this bullshit for years and the more I find out about what happened behind the scenes the more troubling it is especially with the Alyson Hannigan bullying Amber Benson which is the first time I've heard but admittedly I never watched any of the Buffyverse so that's why but it just reinforces what I had said earlier is that Joss Whedon will not be the last.
