The first trailer for CBS All Access' upcoming re-adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand is here, and we also have a new poster and a few first-look stills.

The images feature several of the main characters, including Stu Redman (James Marsden), Glen Bateman (Greg Kinnear), Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg), and the demonic Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård). We also get a first glimpse of Aquaman star Amber Heard as the troubled Nadine Cross.

The poster, meanwhile, features Skarsgård's "Walkin' Dude" with one of his feathered friends.

For those unfamiliar with King's novel, The Stand deals with a global pandemic (yes, it's a scarily prescient tale) known as "Captain Tripps" which wipes out 99% of the world's population. The survivors are immune to the disease, but are ultimately forced to fight each other as some are drawn to a the light (Abagail), and others to darkness (Flagg).

New Mutants director Josh Boone, who was the driving force behind all previous attempts to adapt the book, will direct, write, and produce the upcoming series.

Check out the trailer, poster and Heard pic below (click HERE to see the rest), and let us know if you plan on checking out The Stand when it premieres on December 17th.
