After a successful mid-season finale, Arrow is set to return next week. When the show took its hiatus Oliver was being tormented by the Dark Archer. That torment will continue when the show reruns, according to Stephen Amell. "It’s six weeks later, and we’re finding Oliver in a very different spot than he was before. A very, very different spot,” he explained. Amell went on to say that Oliver is lacking confidence and second guessing himself for the first time since he has donned the Arrow persona after his in counter with The Dark Archer.

With the Dark Archer shaking Oliver's confidence you can rest assure we haven't seen the last of him. As a matter of fact you can expect a back story for him, with Amell saying, "We learn a bit more about his character soon. About why he’s doing what he’s doing." With baddies such as Firefly, Count Vertigo, and others making their appearances in the show, it will be interesting just how and when The Dark Archer will return. I really didn't see it coming when they revealed who the dark archer was,but I think it was to much coincidence of who it is,a coincidence that he just happens to be involved some how with his family,but maybe the origins may explain it

@johnblake

Didn't they already reveal that the "Dark Archer" is Merlyn?

It's Tommy's father. Which makes more sense now that 52 Green Arrow is up and running. At first I was pissed like "WTF! WHERE IS MERLYN?!? WHY IS HE HIS BEST FRIEND?!?!"

Yeah I thought they were going the Smallville route of best friends who become mortal enemies. I'm so glad they steered away from that. Of course, that's not to say that in later seasons, Tommy won't eventually go bad. And his character is pretty boring, and seems to only exist to keep Oliver and Dinah (I refuse to call her Laurel!) apart.

Exploring the story of the Dark Archer will be very interesting and it will give us another glimpse at John Barrowman. My DISH co-worker is the one that got me into the show and with good reason: it’s great! The season finale left me wanting more which in my book makes it a successful show. I record the show each week on my DISH Hopper because I’m at work when it airs. The good part is while it’s recording everyone else at home can still watch their favorites. That translates to no fighting over who gets to watch what.

this show is satrting to annoy me a bit dont get me wrong i loved huntress, green arrow is great and deathstroke wasnt bad but the lack of tech and even minor power is becoming unbearable, you would think there would be more homage payed to people like firefly not only does he not have a bug mask so they may aswell just call him fire but he also from what we have seen cant fly now, i get the stupid need the creators have to be different and make everything realistic but that dosent mean they cant use there tiny heads to come up with some decent tech to subtitute power for example ace should have had some sort of strength enhancing tech
they have taken what is special about green arrow away and that is the fact that in a world full of power he is only a man with a weapon essentially they have made everything easier for him
