ARROW's Wild Dog And New BLACK CANARY Promoted To Series Regulars For Season 6

Although Katie Cassidy is returning to Arrow as a series regular in season 6, she's returning as Earth-2's Black Siren.  That leaves room on Team Arrow for Dinah Drake to continue operating as Black Canary.  As such, EW has announced that Juliana Harkavy, along with Wild Dog actor Rick Gonzalez, have been upped to series regular's for season 6 of The CW's superhero drama.

Arrow returns from midseason hiatus on April 26 at 8PM.  As the countdown to the season 5 finale continues, it seems Oliver will turn to Nyssa al'Ghul, Captain Boomerang, Deathstroke and more to stop Prometheus once and for all.

Manu Bennett's return as Slade is implied to have lasting consequences heading into next season...

I have liked this show a lot at times. One of its biggest fails is the botched and confusing history of Black Canary. Too much confusion!

@RolandD - Eh, the Black Canary is basically a generational torch on Arrow!

First off, wasn't Laurel and Sara's mother named Dinah Lance? That was the Silver Age Black Canary's name in the comics! However, the girls' mother was never a crime fighter on the show.

Pertaining to Arrow's particular history, Sara was The Canary; she was killed by a hypnotized Thea. Laurel became The BLACK Canary to honor Sara's memory, and then Sara became the WHITE Canary after she was ressurected!

Now Dinah DRAKE has become the NEW Black Canary to carry on in Laurel's place! Got it?
