BATWOMAN Is Coming To The ARROWVERSE! This Year's Crossover Event Will Introduce Kate Kane
The CW is set to host another huge crossover event this fall, and Arrow star Stephen Amell has just announced the surprising news that Batwoman is going to be introduced! More details after the jump...
The CW is planning to introduce a live-action take on Batwoman to The Arrowverse.
Arrow star Stephen Amell made the announcement at The CW’s upfront presentation this afternoon:
“We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be doing another crossover event this fall on the CW, and we’ll be introducing a new character. For the very first time appearing, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it.”
Kathy Kane was first introduced back in the '50s, but was re-imagined as "Kate" Kane for DC's New 52 many years later and has since gone on to become one of the highest-profile LGBTQ characters in comic book history.
Batwoman's introduction to the Arrowverse obviously paves the way for more members of the Bat-Family to put in an appearance, something which CW boss Mark Pedowitz alluded to with a follow up statement.
We are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse,” he confirmed. “This will be another full-throttled, action-packed event.”
