Casting Underway For New ARROW Season 4 Mystery Role

Casting is underway for a new Starling City Mayor but her daughter and their connection to Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen is the more interesting item in the casting call. Speculate away on the identity of the season 4 addition and what it could mean for the show moving forward.

Yesterday, we learned the premiere date for Arrow season 4 and today, we have word on a new addition to the cast.  According to E!, Arrow is looking to cast a new Starling City mayor. Here's the scoop:

The CW comic book show is getting some star power next season! Arrow is currently looking to cast a big name for the guest-starring role of Patty, a mayoral candidate who is deeply committed to her city and willing to risk her life to stand up for the people. Described as a female in her 50s-early 60s, Patty is a peer and an old friend of the late Moira Queen, and was once close with Oliver and Thea. She is also a mother, and cares for her daughter above all else…any guesses as to who that daughter is?

Is the daughter mentioned a character already on the show, or will she also be a new addition to Arrow?  We've met nearly all of the mothers for most of the main, female cast so it seems likely that the daughter will be a new addition to the show as well.  Perhaps this is Hawkgirl's (Ciara Renee) mother?

Or, with Oliver and Felicity riding off to Coast City in the season 3 finale, could this be Carol Ferris' mom?

Another option is that this is the mother of the Oliver's baby mama? Although, with Marc Guggenheim stating on his Tumblr that the show would not explore the Connor Hawke angle any deeper, it seems unlikely that it would be her. Plus, it would be extremely cruel of Moiria to treat the daughter of a close, family-friend so harshly.

Lastly, given Starling City's recent (and deadly) history concerning the mayor's office, why would anyone want this position?   But perhaps the Starling City needs someone else...something else...

Still trying to sort out what the link description means. Is that written in Jamaican patois or something?

Maybe this character is Patty Tryce, the Vigilante and Deathstroke's squeeze? Or maybe this is Oliver's baby's mama's mama.

I liked season 3 of Arrow. I feel like most of the hate is people finally coming to terms with the fact that Ra's al Ghul is a weak one-dimensional villain.

I really wanna see a politically infused season. Hopefully one that ends with Ollie as the mayor of Starling City.

Love Stephen Amell, but it pains me to say that Arrow Season 3 was flat and uninspiring. I don't think it would have been that bad had The Flash not been on the air. Watching The Flash and then comparing it with Arrow, really put into perspective how abysmal S3 was for Arrow. I REALLY hope they learn from their mistakes and turn things around for S4.

Willa Holland is the hottest chick on this show. Skinny broads are the best.

Didn't they already cast Ollie's baby mama? And Guggenheim said there are no plans ever to include Connor hawke

@RobinHood It looks more badass this way, but I would like something in between, a nice long goatee

The Arrow was decent, not its a turd. The Flash while somewhat enjoyable is massively overrated and deals with the same overwrought melodrama that destroyed The Arrow. I just can't deal with how pathetic the dramatic arches are in both these shows. Vomit inducing for the most part.
