Earlier this year, Colton Haynes took to social media to tease a possible return to Arrow and it's now confirmed that he'll return to The CW series next year. The actor is only coming back for a short arc but that will kick off with the fifteenth episode (Arrow is back on January 18th with its tenth) and it sounds like he may very well be used as a way of writing Willa Holland's Thea Queen out of the series.

"We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper," executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle said in a statement released today confirming the actor's upcoming return to the show. “Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences..."

Roy Harper first showed up in season two and became a series regular near the end of season three. However, he left the show in season four to pursue a Hollywood career which hasn't really taken off beyond a lot of TV roles and a brief appearance in disaster movie San Andreas. Good to here he's back. Last thing I saw him in was AHS Cult, which I was not a big fan of at all.

@MrCamw1 - That season was so strange. Definitely my least favorite of the AHS seasons so far.

@L0RDbuckethead - I have this tied with Hotel as weakest. Off topic I thought Lady Gaga did fine in her role.

I hope they dont pull a supergirl by having Arsenal be married or with someone and Thea being jealous .... Maybe Thea gets pregnant

Maybe after his return, he and Thea can join the Legends. I gave up on Arrow, but I like Roy. Not enough to return to Arrow, but enough to check out his story arc.

How did they explain Ollie being Arrow after Roy turned himself in, again?
