Batwoman's first season has been mostly well-received by fans, and while Alice has proved to be something of an underwhelming villain (especially when there were so many more exciting possibilities from the comic books), learning about her twisted history has definitely been a lot of fun.

Now, thanks to preview images from Sunday's episode - titled "Off With Her Head" - we get to see more of that, not to mention some of Alice's villainous plans for Gotham City and her family in the present day. There are also some great shots of Luke Fox teaming up with Mary Hamilton.

Here's the synopsis for this instalment of Batwoman:

MOMMY DEAREST — More of Alice’s (Rachel Skarsten) dark past is uncovered when Cartwright (guest star John Emmet Tracy) shares a twisted story with Kate (Ruby Rose) while Jacob (Dougray Scott) goes searching for his wayward daughter. Mary (Nicole Kang) and Luke (Camrus Johnson) follow a lead on Beth’s killer. Holly Dale directed the episode written by Natalie Abrams (#115).

Alice isn't underwhelming, she's got quite a lot of depth due to the things that happened to her to mold her into who she is, besides her frenemy-ship with Kate has proven to be one of the best things of the show. It echoes Batman and Joker without literally copying anything from them as well.

I am more curious of what is Cartwright senior's plans than Alice though, I view him as more of a threat at the moment.

I bet that old lady from the flashback won't come out looking well.

The fear toxin messing with Alice and Jacob going to "rescue" her could lead to some serious status quo change, like him being the newest to find out Kate is Batwoman. And Mary is almost close as well.

I hate to say this, but I'm already tired of Alice being a villain (That tease of Beth from the other Earth is what pushed me)...

For Kate's sake, I do hope they can redeem Alice to where she isn't so bad to the point she can at least become an anti-hero and become Red Alice from the comics. Or if that's too far they could just put her in a ward where she can have some relationship with Kate, and hopefully repair their strained sisterly-bond.

Please, wrap up the Alice storyline as soon as possible. It has long overstayed its welcome.

@HeavyMetal4Life - no doubt! it's like a soap opera that drags on and on and on. getting a little bored with it
