Rumors did the rounds that classic Batman villain Black Mask was set to be introduced during season 2 of The CW's Batwoman late last year, and Deadline has now revealed that Nikita alum Peter Outerbridge has filled the role.
Outerbridge’s (Suicide Squad, Saw VI, Lucky Number Slevin) small-screen take on Roman Sionis is expected to play a "major part" in the story for the remainder of the second season, and is described as "a pragmatic and charismatic CEO who plays the white knight against Gotham’s corrupt systems. As Black Mask, an evil mastermind with a deep hatred of The Crows and masked vigilantes, he is willing to tear down Gotham to enact his revenge."
Sounds like this version on Sionis will be taking a few liberties with the DC Comics incarnation of the character.
In Sunday’s episode, it was revealed that Kate Kane had survived the plane crash we saw in the Season 2 premiere, but Wallis Day was introduced as an "altered" version of the hero in place of Ruby Rose.
