BATWOMAN: The CW's Upcoming ARROWVERSE Spin-Off Adds Dougray Scott As Jacob Kane
With production set to get underway very soon on The CW's solo Batwoman TV series, news has just broke that Dougray Scott has been vast as the show's male lead, Jacob Kane. Find out more after the jump...
We recently found out that former Birds of Prey (TV) actress Rachel Skarsten joined the cast of The CW's Batwoman as the show's main villain, Alice, and now we have word on another main player that's been added to the production.
According to Deadline, Scottish actor Dougray Scott (Departure, Mission: Impossible II) will play Kate Kane's (Ruby Rose) father Jacob Kane, who will reportedly be the show's male lead.
This small-screen take on the character is described as follows:
"A former military colonel with a chip on his shoulder for Batman, Jacob Kane now commands Gotham’s private security firm The Crows, and has made it his mission to protect his city better than the Dark Knight ever could. But it’s only a matter of time before his unwavering disdain for vigilantes puts him at odds with Gotham’s new caped crusader…who also happens to be his own daughter."
Scott joins Meagan Tandy (Teen Wolf), Camrus Johnson (Luke Cage) and Nicole Kang (You) as Sophie Moore, Luke Fox and Mary Hamilton, respectively.
The trade also confirms a recent rumor that David Nutter has been forced to drop out of directing the pilot for personal reasons. He'll be replaced by Marcos Siega (The Following, The Vampire Diaries).
