While we wait on a plot synopsis, the preview for next week's episode seems to indicate that the hour may be a little Jennifer-centric as she (China Anne McClain) begins opening up about her father's overprotective nature and the effect it's been having on her ever since she discovered her latent abilities.

Meanwhile, Jefferson (Cress Williams) will use every trick in the book to track down Looker's (Sofia Vassilieva) baby.

"The Book of Blood: Chapter Three: The Sange" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

(#207). Original airdate 11/27/2018.

Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe haven for young people in a New Orleans neighborhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero to his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life on the line, and seeing the effects of the damage and loss that his alter ego was inflicting on his family, he left his Super Hero days behind and settled into being a principal and a dad. Choosing to help his city without using his superpowers, he watched his daughters Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) grow into strong young women, even though his marriage to their mother, Lynn (Christine Adams), suffered. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred, Black Lightning returns — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.

Black Lightning features:
Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning
China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce
Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce/Thunder
Christine Adams as Lynn Pierce
Marvin "Krondon" Jones III as Tobias Whale
Damon Gupton as Inspector William Henderson
James Remar as Peter Gambi
Jordan Calloway as Khalil Payne/Painkiller

This is certainly...Not how I expected them to depict Looker.

The episode provided good amount of world building and the reveal that Looker must be one of the original vaccine kids from 30 years ago that Gambi was scouting to see if they manifested powers from the A.S.A.'s Green Light prototype serum is a good connection, she's just like Jefferson.

Sange and Perdi, the former ruled by Looker and her silver liquid “Element” metahuman ability to enslave her white faction as well as giving them more strength and speed and literally being her eyes and ears (it even seemed like she was controlling them all in the climax) but if they fail her she can just remove it from them to kill them. I am curious how many other original vaccine metas like she and Black Lightning are still out there.

That love affair between now deceased Deacon and Anaya kickstarters this whole thing. Now that Anissa got her & her caucasian baby out from South Freeland I am sure that Looker will not stop until she has it back. Whether Jefferson is successful in retrieving the other baby of color I have a feeling that Looker will follow them into main Freeland and wreck havoc there till she gets the white one that carries her “Element”.

I do find it weird that Looker is the leader of the Sange but there isn’t one in Perdi. Then again the latter must be a democratic community while she is ruling with a silver fist.

I felt so bad for Lynn having to face the grief and anger of the parents of the deceased 14 kids, it also just makes me hate harder on Jace for what she did. It should be her the one to receive all the hate, seeing that angry and grieving father asking if his daughter was among the casualties ward hard and sad to see.

Jennifer was coming from the right place to comfort her mother but the timing and wording wasn’t exactly the best. But the effort is what counts. I am starting to think Lynn will find some solace and a way to make this up at least to herself if she can attend the white baby Anissa is bringing with her.

Tobias and Khalil finally went at it, the battle was good even if Tobias still got the upperhand. Hard to predict what will happen to Khalil at this point, if he really leaves then his mother might die if I caught that right from Tobias' threat about him not killing the priest. He didn’t seem to care about that slip up of him being behind leaving him paralyzed back in S1. Maybe if he asks for Gambi to put his mother under protection then it’d be a way out.

And Gambi was alive as I expected, got out from the car beneath it before he made it explode once he crashed and got out of the road. I am still sure the A.S.A . put the hit on him, never ever try to kill this guy because if you fail he will cut off your fingers. Considering he caught up through his drone what was going on in South Freeland he can’t stay under a low profile for much longer, Jefferson and Anissa are gonna need him.

And apparently while he was hearing the news from his room and before checking the situations with Jefferson and Anissa there was a report of a ciivl war in Markovia, fictional Eastern European nation of Geo-force, one of Black Lightning’s allies from the Outsiders on the comics. I hope it is later revealed that the A.S.A. also tried their vaccine there and it leads into somewhere for a plot in S3.

Looking forward to more about these chapters and where the story goes with Looker.
