CW’s ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ has announced the appearance of another hero in their shared DC universe. That’s right, while Hawkgirl already is a series regular it seems that her male counterpart will feature as well. During DC Entertainments panel ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ executive producer

Marc Guggenheim announced that Hawkman would be added as a new character to the show. No further details about the character or possible casting were available.

Several incarnations of Hawkman have appeared in DC Comics, all of them characterized by the use of archaic weaponry and by large, artificial wings, attached to a harness made from the special Nth metal that allows flight.  Two of the more well-known versions of the character are Carter Hall and Katar Hol. Either would work well in this universe and with the introduction of time travel a concept that will feature prominently in this series. The writers should be able to tell some interesting stories with him.  Hawkman also has a comic book connection with Atom, Flash, and Arrow.  So it seems DC TV is shaping up to be a world filled with iconic heroes to hold us over until Batman Vs Superman debuts. A nice appetizer while we wait for the main course.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow or simply Legends of Tomorrow focuses on time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter, who has to recruit a rag-tag team of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse that could impact not only Earth, but all of time.
A DC Entertainment television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim, who also executive produce with showrunner Phil Klemmer, and Sarah Schechter. Starring Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Arthur Darvill, Ciara Renée, Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller.

I don't think there was an article specifically about Hawkman coming to LoT but I'm positive I read it in some article sometime during the weekend. Basically, this is old news, and probably won't be up long, sorry.

This is great news. It will allow for the team up of Hawkman and Atom to be shown. Which will be great.

Hawkman and Atom were good buds. I've been waiting for Hawkman since they brought Atom on board.

Awesome. I know most people prefer Hawkgirl because of the awesome "Justice League" animated series, but I always thought Hawkman was a little bit cooler simply because he's more of a gritty ant-hero. It's just a personal taste thing. I can't wait to see both characters in the show.

@ScottMontgomery Couldn't agree more. Over on Arrow it was announced that they are adding Mr Terrific. They have more that enough to do the JSA.

Great news Hawkman would be cool to see. EVen though he appeared on Smallville that version was great it will be interesting to see how this version differs from that one. it would also be cool if Legends could become a Justice Society show

@tugboy

I also love Hawkman and I'm self surprised to find amazing the idea of Kevin Sorbo playing it.

Hawkman is a great character that always seems to get shoved aside and re-tooled much like Aquaman. The best iteration was Joe Kubert's version, Carter Hall (i.e. Katar Hol) the Thanagarian policeman which had a cosmic GL vibe but was also a badass and Shiera Hol his wife, Hawkwoman. I guess they're going to use all the re-incarnation bolshoi plotlines since that is this Hawkgirl's back-story.

I thought Michael Shanks did an admiral job on Smallville. Hopefully he gets a decent costume,closer to his classic look. Lately they've added so much body armor, helmet metal and gauntlet claws (every hero must be able to eviscerate their opponent)that Hawkman will require a hernia truss as part of his uniform. Anyway, I'm glad to see him join up; it does seem like a Justice Society build-up.

Hope its the alien version, only because that could lead to the reincarnation storylines as a twist for those who don't know. Seems DCTV is kicking it hardcore
