The season finale of Lanterns hits HBO Max later tonight, and those who have been following and enjoying the DCU series are anxious to find out whether the episode will stick the landing.

Some (possible) vague reactions have been shared on social media, but there have been conflicting reports about whether anyone has actually seen "Dirt and Stars" yet.

We had been led to believe that critics had only been sent the first seven episodes for review purposes, but there is a possibility that a handful of influencers have been given access to the finale.

Even if the latter is true, these posts don't reveal anything major, but there could be some mild spoilers

One thing does seem certain: The finale won't wrap everything up in a neat bow, and will leave the door open for a second season.

Sinestro actor Ulrich Thomsen revealed that the season will end on a "cliffhanger" during a recent interview.

"It will be a great cliffhanger for sure. It’s a mystery… and with all mysteries they’re all coming together and there’s potential for more.”

It's also probably safe enough to assume that, whatever happens, the episode is going to divide opinion.

HBO in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. The pilot episode is co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, who are co-creators for the series. Mundy serves as showrunner. The first two episodes are directed by James Hawes, with Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov also tapped to direct. The series is executive produced by Mundy, Lindelof, James Gunn, Peter Safran, King, Ron Schmidt, and Hawes. Based on the DC comic characters from Green Lantern.

The series stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Nathan Fillion, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

Hmmmm , I don’t mind a cliffhanger if they do resolve the Who killed Hal Jordan thread & such especially since we are meant to get a S2 though it hasn’t been greenlit yet.

Also John not getting the suit makes sense since he is still not at a place mentally where he would willingly put on the ring imo permanently and take up the position so I could see this being true but perhaps the finale gets him to that place.

Anyway , I have liked the show quite a bit so far and hope however the finale is that it turns out to be satisfying!!.

Wait. I thought tonight was supposed to be a massive sci-fi epic where John uses the full potential of the ring to take on Parallax and the entire Sinestro Corps?

That's what every fan of this show assured me.

They better not pull that "half a story told" BS the Alien show did. I don't like it enough to watch another season on those terms.

Leave it to DC to screw up Batman, Superman and now Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern franchise. As bad as the Ryan Reynolds version was at least the spirit of the character was intact. whatever that finale was supposed to be tonight they just flushed that down the toilet. All the racist overtones and bs just came down to a core hatred of the character and doing anything to replace him. When Cap handed Sam the shield at least both characters moved on with their respect and integrity still intact. there was no reason to tear one person down to build the other one up. that's all that this series was. Someone's personal axe to grind and nothing more. this could have been something special instead it just goes on the pile of woke, social justice garbage.
