LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: Meet The Newest Member Of The Team In New Photos From Season 3, Episode 3: "Zari"
Ahead of her debut in episode three, The CW has released five new photos from the third hour featuring our first look at Tala Ashe as the newest member of the team, Zari Adrianna Tomaz. Come check it out!
We knew going into the season that Legends of Tomorrow would be adding a piece to their ensemble with Zari Adrianna Tomaz a.k.a. Isis (Tala Ashe), but what we didn't know at the time was that they'd also be losing a key piece as well in Martin Stein (Victor Garber), who is rumored to be exiting the series at the end of the upcoming four-part "Crisis on Earth-X" crossover event.
Now, while she won't serve as a replacement for the irreplaceable Dr. Stein, she will essentially fill some of the massive void left by Garber's departure, so that raises the question: is she up to the task?
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Tala Ashe spoke on Zari's mindset coming into her new status quo as a budding superhero and upon meeting her new (slightly dysfunctional) teammates. “She’s not an obvious choice to join the Legends, and to be part of a team. In the early episodes, you’re going to see that she’s fighting the narrative of being a superhero, but also being part of a team and trusting people because I think that’s something that has burned her in the past. Because of her upbringing, it’s not something that she easily adheres to. She is brilliant in that sense and says what’s on her mind, and it’s a different tone to bring to the group of Legends. She shakes them up and challenges their mission.”
Check out five new photos from episode three, titled "Zari," below:
"Zari" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)
OUTLAWS - When Sara (Caity Lotz) receives a distress call from their "befriended" agent at the Time Bureau, she learns that they have been tasked with going to the future to capture a rogue time traveler. Unfortunately, the Legends make things worse by trying to protect an outlaw named Zari (Tala Ashe), to hopefully lure in the time travelling assassin. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) tries to diagnose Amaya's (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) condition, but Nate (Nick Zano) discovers an unusual treatment that Amaya begrudgingly agrees to. Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell and Franz Drameh also star. Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by James Eagan & Ray Utarnachitt (#303). Original airdate 10/24/2017.
After defeating the Legion of Doom, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow face a new existential threat created by their actions at the end of last season. By revisiting a moment in time they’d already participated in, they’ve essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question and disband the team. Challenging the Time Bureau’s authority, they recruit a hacker from the future, Zari Tomaz and continue their time travelling shenanigans, while insisting that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.
