Stories come together from ideas, ideas are informed by our beliefs and the things we think are most worth fighting for. If you're looking for mindless garbage with nothing to say there's a new Transformers movie hitting theaters soon.

@RorMachine - So you see Legends as some form of thoughtful high art? And Transformers would be better if it inserted some PC propaganda? People seemed to enjoy Jaws, Raiders, Star Wars, ET, Ghostbusters, Batman 89, Nolan's Batman trilogy just fine and those movies did not have political messaging spewing from the mouths of fictional characters. Tim Burton and Nolan didn't lure kids into a theater with the promise of a good Batman movie in order to use Batman as an avatar to preach their political views. Those movies are the cream of the crop in genre entertainment. Like Transformers they didn't have political jargon inserted into them. Indy Jones and Yoda had no dialog bashing republicans or promoting the political beliefs of the left or right. Were they mindless garbage? Would they have been even better if Hollywood liberals were there to insert some dialog attacking republicans in their fight for what they believe in?

People watch superhero TV and film for a good time, not for political sermons on the mount. You seem to be saying the Berlanti series are somehow dependent or driven by political stories and are also better than movies like Transformers because they promote Berlanti's PC views.

First, the Berlanti series are very simplistic slugfests. They are not deep, witty, political thrillers. The preachy PC messaging appears usually only in the form of forced dialog. But you are implying the dialog is somehow critical to the series. That it renders it better than "mindless garbage" like Transformers. That also seems to indicate that it is a fact, that PC messaging is in fact good messaging. Both would be untrue. A TV series like Arrow is basically on the level of an old Jean Claud Van Damme or Mortal Kombat movie. It is just entertainment. And people watch to be entertained, not to listen to Berlanti's dinner table thoughts on today's politics.

If Berlanti has beliefs he wants to fight for he should do seminars. Go out and preach. And when he is at work producing entertainment, he should do like the creators of the best genre entertainment ever, and focus on creating good product that entertains instead of hiding behind fictional superheroes and using them to deliver his politics to others.

@ManDeth - You're missing my point. Not every movie HAS to include a political message to be worth a damn, but the fact that many of them are going to does not - or rather, should not - detract from their quality or stop you watching them just because you happen to disagree with whatever points they out across. I actually happen to hate those CW DC shows, but not because of that. Basically what I'm saying is, if a writer or director chooses to add some kind of statement into his "escapism" he shouldn't be afraid to do it just because some closed minded individuals will call him/her out for being "PC".

As far as Star Wars goes, you're one of those people than complained because Rogue One was made up of women and minorities aren't you? lol.

Also, you don't think Nolan's Batman movies contained any political undertones? Really?
