LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Sets Up A Demonic Season 4 With John Constantine; Plus Details On That Big Exit

After one of the most bats**t crazy finales the CW has ever aired, next year promises to be even wilder as Constantine has arrived with an even bigger threat. Plus, get details on that big exit...

John Constantine is officially a Legend.

Following a wild finale that saw the Legends unite their six totems to become the all-powerful Beebo (yes, really) and defeat the evil Mallus (John Noble), the final moments saw John Constantine (Matt Ryan) and Gary (Adam Tsekhman) pay the gang a visit while they were relaxing in Aruba. While his appearance was fairly brief, he did manage to set up a pretty demonic season four as he revealed to everyone that not only did Sara's (Caity Lotz) unorthodox plan let out Mallus, but it also let out something much worse - or, well, a lot of things much worse.

Prior to John's arrival, we saw Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) bid farewell to Nate (Nick Zano) after she decided to return home to Zambesi to fulfill her destiny and while we've seen plenty of exits this season, we can now safely assure you that this isn't the last we've seen of Vixen. Following the episode, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Richardson-Sellers will be back next season as a series regular, which is certainly welcome news, but whether or not she's still playing Amaya is yet-to-be-seen.

As for Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), their exits are likely to be a little more permanent, especially considering that both characters sacrificed themselves for the greater good with Rip taking a time bomb for his team while Darhk swapped places with Nora (Courtney Ford) to save her from obliteration. However, since this is Legends, that doesn't necessarily mean they can't pop up at some point or another next year.

So, what did you guys think of the finale? Sound off with your thoughts below!

After defeating the Legion of Doom, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow face a new existential threat created by their actions at the end of last season. By revisiting a moment in time they’d already participated in, they’ve essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question and disband the team. Challenging the Time Bureau’s authority, they recruit a hacker from the future, Zari Tomaz and continue their time travelling shenanigans, while insisting that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.

Legends Of Tomorrow features:
Brandon Routh as Dr. Ray Palmer/The Atom
Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein/Firestorm
Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary
Franz Drameh as Jefferson "Jax" Jackson/Firestorm
Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave
Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen
Nick Zano as Dr. Nate Heywood/Commander Steel
Amy Pemberton as Gideon
Tala Ashe as Zari Adrianna Tomaz
Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid-Flash
Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter
Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe
Tracy Ifeachor as Kuasa
Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk
Courtney Ford as Eleanor Darhk
Wentworth Miller as Leo Snart/Citizen Cold
Matt Ryan as John Constantine

My god, freaking Beebo!! In what is perhaps the greatest, most outlandish and ridiculous finale fight in Arrowverse history. Praise our lord and savior!! God that was awesome, that whole fight made the episode. That may go down as one of the greatest moments in Legends history. I couldn't stop laughing.

So, reflecting on the rest of the episode outside of the great Beebo fight. Rip dying, I did not see that coming. I'm not really sure if we earned his death at this point, it was more shockful than impactful imo though the overplay of scenes involving Rip was great. Rip has been a constant on the show so it will be interesting to see how/if his death leaves a hole going forward.

There were some super, super hilarious scenes (outside of Beebo) in the episode. Damien and Ray on the jump ship and Damien waving to Nate, great. Nate joining Amaya in the psychic meditation, and then them sharing what they learned with the rest of the team and Wally looking at Nate everytime he spoke, priceless. The Legends trying joining hands the first time and hearing everyone's thoughts, so good. The group debating how to say Mallus' name, lmao. Zari and Jonah Hex, lol. There were lots of really funny moments.

Speaking of Damien, it was a very fitting end to his character, to essentially fulfill his redemption arc and save his daughter. I have seriously loved Damien these past two seasons on Legends, especially this one. One of the best episodes of the season was the Damien centric one and Neal McDonough has continuously brought a devilish charm to the show. His departure will definitely be felt but he has certainly cemented himself as one of the top 5 Arrowverse villains so far.

It was great to see Jax return, though this felt like more of a farewell to the character since he has a child. I was surprised to see Kuasa, so I guess she has assumed the original Vixen's place. And Helen of Troy, wow she was awesome. Loved her in this episode, just a total badass and so fine ;-)

Mallus himself, he served his purpose fine imo. Perhaps he could have done more to actually threaten the world, idk. All in all, it was a very good finale. At this moment I'm not sure whether I like this finale more than last year's which was pretty great with the WW1 setting and the fight against the Reverse Flash. But what a great way to end a great season! Season 3 of Legends has been such a blast and certainly the best, most enjoyable Arrowverse show on this year.

Top Arrowverse villains so far:

1. Prometheus
2. Reverse Flash
3. Deathstroke
4. Damien Darhk
5. Malcolm Merlyn

All 5 of these villains are great. While I love Deathstroke more than Reverse Flash (in the Arrowverse), Reverse is certainly more of a villain than Slade since the latter has been redeemed. Heck, three of those villains above ended up having a redemption arc. Darhk's death, if you think about it, is kind of the Arrowverse closing the door on its "classic" villains. Will be interesting to see where they go from here, and if another character will come close to these 5...

@HeavyMetal4Life -

Kuasa is now sharing the totem with the modern day Vixen. That means they can keep making
Vixen animated stories and have the current Vixen show up every once in a while in the Arrowverse
while Kuasa does most of the crossovers with Amaya.

I think Amaya will be retrieved by the Legends for a several episode arc before having to go home
to 1942 for a few episodes then returning again for another couple episodes in a row.

Its going to be such a blast having Constantine [and Gary??] around next season. So the Legends roster I take it will be: Sara, Nate, Rory, Zari, Ray, Wally (really really hope he stays) and Constantine. Let the games begin!!

Kind of interesting that Amaya is going to return next season. This really would have been a fitting goodbye to the character so wonder how she will factor into season 4.

Rip's death was well done, it was well built. The opening was too.

I am torn because it was good so if he returns it feels a bit cheapened. But then again he's always missed every crossover, so for the moment I am torn.

Beebo vs Mallus ended up looking good and badass in some parts. It is right up there with The Atom vs Leviathan in S1, difference being more light here.

The CW's budget can do anything they set to do, no more doubts after this.

Welcome Constantine. I wonder how Ava's regular role will be handled just like Amaya's.

R.I.P. Darhk.

I hope S4 mixes this Season's ridiculousness and fresh ideas with some of the seriousness and tension from S1. Come up with a big bad that isn't just powerful but also has a personality for S4. But if what Constantine said at the end is true then they could face a cabal of supernatural foes.

Until July for Comic Con.

@NinnesMBC - nah, no need to bring in anything from season 1. The show has only gotten better and better with every subsequent season and they should just keep doing what they do best. Which is what they gave us this season.
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 4/9/2018, 6:54 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - S1 still had great moments, not all was bad from it. The show could do with a 5% ounce of tension or stakes. Mainly it was due to Rip's crusade and the strict rules they played with time travel, which since his departure they began to be more loose.

If they can add that to what they already have then it'll be a good achievement.

@NinnesMBC - Ok i think I can more or less agree. Yes, there were some great moments in season 1. I perfectly enjoyed the season; it wasn't great but it was good. The finale was pretty good, the future Arrow episode was great (that might have been the best episode of the season), etc. But this show should not get too serious. I think that was part of the problem with the first season. They need to just do their own thing, deal with threats but still have a freaking hilarious time doing it. I don't want the Legends formula (which is be as ridiculous, crazy awesome as possible and have the time of your life) to change. Obviously with Constantine coming on the show will delve into the supernatural and occult, but still be classic Legends at the core; essentially a hybrid between the two.

NinnesMBC - 4/9/2018, 7:28 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - Indeed that was S1's cross, they were on a tight leash due to it being Rip's main arc which made sense and a big bad that had a clear goal in rebooting all history, it also wasn't shy in delivering the first wave of consequences with Snart's death. I also felt it delivered a more "how are they gonna win now" vibe back then. I don't want them to let go nor throw away the system they have found, just level it up a bit in all areas basically.

If they could make S4 all of this again but also make it scary since it is going to be occult stuff and that can be felt in the new big bad's presence, then awesome.

Awesome finale, but I couldn't help but think a Captain Planet joke would have worked better in place of the Voltron joke.

I've only watched the first season and half of the second on Netflix. That's where I watch my Arrowverse shows. I've seen Flash 1-3, Arrow 1-4 (Felicity caused me to stop), LoT 1-half of 2, and half of Supergirl. Any reason I should continue to watch these or should I just stop?

HeavyMetal4Life - 4/9/2018, 7:14 PM
@RickGrimes95 - Yeah you should continue to watch Arrow and Legends. And season 2 of Supergirl you could check out.
