It was during the third season of
Arrow that Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer made his grand debut, and since then he has become a major player in the Arrowverse, becoming a mainstay on
Legends of Tomorrow. But after five seasons with the time-traveling team of heroes, Routh will officially exit the show.
While this means fans still have a few months until they have to say goodbye to Ray Palmer, Routh recently took to Instagram to announce that he has finished his final day of filming on the DC Comics series.
In his post, which includes a photo from what we presume is his final day in the Atom suit, Routh shared a heartfelt message where he expressed his love for the entire cast and crew.
“My final day of filming with my #LegendsFamily,” Routh writes.
“I love you all & appreciate the 5 seasons we’ve spent together. It hasn’t always been easy, but I think that’s what makes it harder to leave — getting through the growing pains of the first few seasons has bonded us. And made the last three seasons a blast!”
Although the upcoming fifth season of
Legends of Tomorrow will see Routh bid farewell to his time as Ray Palmer, fans of the Arrowverse will also be able watch as the
Superman Returns star takes up the role of Clark Kent once more for the
Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover that kicks off this December.
The fifth season of
Legends of Tomorrow is expected to premiere January 2020 on The CW network.
