SMALLVILLE's Superman Tom Welling Joins The Cast Of LUCIFER Season 3; Plus New SDCC Trailer
The Man of Steel is returning to the small-screen! Just two weeks after Smallville actress Erica Durance joined Supergirl, Tom Welling has also signed on for a key role in FOX's Lucifer. Come take a look!
Following the epic conclusion of Smallville in 2011, series star Tom Welling chose to stay out of the limelight for a few years, but it now looks like he's ready to jump back into the fray and he's just signed on for a major role in the upcoming season of FOX TV's Lucifer.
Variety is reporting that Welling will play Marcus Paige, an accomplished police lieutenant who, unlike Tom Ellis' title character, is described as reserved and well-respected. However, he does have a few similarities with Lucifer as they are both charming, charismatic, and handsome, which causes issues for Lucifer when Pierce strikes a connection with Lauren German's Chloe Decker.

Season Two of Lucifer promises to be the mother of all seasons as Lucifer (Tom Ellis) finds himself tasked with tracking down his mother, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) while continuing to punish criminals alongside LAPD detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). At the end of Season One, Chloe watched Lucifer die, only to come back to life, causing more confusion over who he really is. Now, Lucifer and his angel brother, Amenadiel (DB Woodside), will work together for one common goal – to find their mother, who escaped Hell. After all, Lucifer doesn’t take after his dad, so the parent he does resemble is sure to be quite terrifying. With mom on the loose, Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris), who’s become not only a therapist, but also a confidante to Lucifer, Amenadiel and Maze, will surely have a lot of advice to dole out. And, by the time she’s done, she may need a therapist of her own!
