DC's workplace comedy series, Powerless, may have lost its showrunner recently, but everything still seems to be on track for the show to premiere at some point in 2017 on NBC, and several cast members were interviewed about this for the new episode of DC All Access.
Ever since Wonder Woman was name-dropped in the trailer, fans have been curious about how exactly Princess Diana would factor into the plot (we already know she won't actually make an appearance), and Vanessa Hudgens briefly divulges the details in the video below.
In the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens (“Grease Live,” “High School Musical”) plays Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. It’s when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own right … even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.
It remains to be seen how they work in the likes of Green Lantern and Aquaman, but we should find out a little more before Powerless hits our screens next year.
