The first trailer for season two of Stargirl has finally been released (via Entertainment Weekly) and there are tonnes of big reveals to delve into here.
By far the most significant introduces Ysa Penarejo's Jade, a character now confirmed as the daughter of original Green Lantern, Alan Scott. As with most superheroes the first time they meet, it looks like she'll clash with Courtney Whitmore, probably because she wants her father's Lantern back.
There are plenty of other cool talking points, though, including a first look at Thunderbolt (Jim Gaffigan) and a few hints about what we can expect from Eclipso (Nick Tarabay) and The Shade (Jonathan Cake). They're the show's new lead villains, and while Courtney is clearly struggling to balance superheroics with high school, the new JSA will have plenty to keep them busy.
It's definitely interesting to see that the Justice Society of America will remain a key part of Stargirl, especially when another iteration of the team will be featured in Black Adam. Thankfully, the days of these type of concepts being pulled from TV shows like this one just because Warner Bros. wants to use them in a movie do appear to be over.
Stargirl season two will premiere on The CW on Tuesday, August 10.
