Dynamite Entertainment are bringing us a comic adap of George RR Martin's A Game Of Thrones(the HBO series dropped the "A") with Alex Ross and Mike S. Miller providing covers to novelist Daniel Abraham scripts and artist Tommy Patterson's interiors. MTV's Geeknews have a preview of the first 5 pages. Just have a look at their awesome interpretation of a White Walker..

Geeknews also have an interview with Daniel Abraham in which he discusses bringing the story to the comic page and whether he was influenced at all by the tv series. Here is an excerpt..

Apart from it being literally the signature epic fantasy of the generation, which I think commands a certain respect whatever else about the project appeals, George is an amazing writer. The experience of sitting down with A Game of Thrones and falling into that world was so powerful, rich, and complicated that it’s hard to tease apart any one aspect of it and say “that was the appeal.” The characters were great, the setting was immersive and gigantic and mysterious, the plot was riveting. It was epic fantasy done absolutely right. Still is.

Actually, I think that interpretation of a white walker sucks.

Apart the opening credits (which stiffened me somewhat) that show was terribly boring

Yea the Books are amazing, MrEko has the just of it, and the show was great, very close to the books. Only problem is the Author, it was about 10 or more years between books 4 and 5 and book 4 ended with him saying book 5 would be only a few months away

Elwood, those aren't Wights, they are the White Walkers themselves.

I don't really understand the point of this. I got into the books because I was into the show. I don't need a comic book about material I've already experienced twice.

I feel like the walkers aren't really that scary anymore now that you have an entire splash page dedicated to providing it's every detail. The word I think is 'underwhelming'. It looks like he's made of mercury . . .

Love the show.

the only thing I wish was different, are the Dire-wolves. they play a bigger role in the book, and are giant, the way they are described, they are as big as cows.

I when the wildlings come upon bran and rob and theon save him, the dire wolves are part of that scene in the book, blasting through the water, and tearing some of the wildlings apart. they are also a part of the battle at the end of the show. In the book one of them kills half a dozen warhorses and twice as many men.

I get that it's gotta be tough to CGI Cow size giant wolves in the show, so it's understandable. but man they just seem so bad ass in the book and really a great ally for the Starks. wish they could have found a way to make them more like the book

They'll probably be bigger in the second season. Probably for the wow factor right off the bat. I did find it odd though that the dires were missing during the Save Bran scene.
