Incredibly adapted from the books. Hope "Game of Thrones" gets to cover all seven novels.

HOLY FVCK

I just watched this episode an hour ago and it's still in my head. My jaw dropped and I literally sat there frozen all the way through to the credits as the whole sequence ensued. And no, I've not read the books, but I was expecting something... But FVCK ME... NOT something like this.

@pud333 You have every right to say that!

The Red Wedding was everything I dreaded it would be. Horrifying. Tragic
Emotionally intense. That despicable sneer on Walder Freys face was utterly terrifying

It's getting ridiculous, the pointless violence was just to shock the audience, it was something in season one but now it's crap, writers have no intelligent way to progress.

Ugly actress who plays Cat? What the hell is the matter with you?

Fantastic performances all around. My heart is still wounded from this scene. I can't stop thinking about it even now. Wonder when it will stop....

If you watched the interview you would know that the "Red Wedding" wasn't the writers choice.They are simply being faithful to the material. If you want someone to crucify look to George R. R. Martin.

@bropous

It's going to be close. Last heard, GRRM is 1/4 way into his manuscript for The Winds of Winter (Book 6). At the rate he's going it will likely be 2015 before it's published. That said, he's mentioned repeatedly that he knows how it's all going to end, so maybe the cart (the TV show) can come before the horse (the book) for book 7?

Interesting that he cited Spider-Man movies as not being tragic as we're on the verge of potentially having a tragic Spider-Man movie.

Fappy, see that couldn't be further from the truth. It is in no way pointless and although shocking it's not done JUST to shock. If you've read the books you'll know that everything that happens does so to take the story (or stories more accurately) in a drastically different direction, and repercussions take shape in new and interesting ways. I hated that those characters died but I also respected Martin's balls to do it, and I know why he did it too.

@Fappy

They are only following the books, maybe you should read the books before you assume it was the show writers.
The wedding will lead us straight to Lady Stoneheart (which will be awesome) and the Frey's and Lanister's do not go unpunished . GOT is one of the better adaptions on TV right now. However, I am surprised they off'd Talisa and even more suprised they didnt use Jeyne Westerling (from the books)

@marckos I love Breaking Bad too. But I just wasn't expecting the Starks to be wiped out like that. (I've never read the books). It just caught me off guard. Never been shocked by a TV show before, though BB and Boardwalk Empire have come really close.

I love this series, the books and the show. It's one of the rare ones that you truly don't know who will win the Game of Thrones in the end.

This scene was well shot, I knew what was coming and still felt like I was punched in the gut watching it. Curious on how they will end this season with the next episode.

The violence shocks some of you? Why? We're humans, its what we do to advance as a species. Survival of the fittest, natural selection and all that. A good time was had by all, celebrate!
Mysterion, those were awesome images. Bloody damn good.

This episode was amazing, I love it for how brilliantly it ws put together and hate it because I have to endure the Starks suffering again. It is a stroke of genius though, the characters we all root for and like are the ones who suffer the most, maybe in the end the remaining Starks will rise and reclaim their glory and take down all the assholes who stood in their way.

@fappy -What?! This was executed (no pun intended) perfectly. I don't think the violence was over the top at all, in fact knowing that the Red Wedding was coming I thought it was going to be even worse.

The song that began to play before it all went down is "Rains of Castamere" written by Tywin Lannister . it references when He - Tywin obliterated House Reynes. If you re-watch the episode

note the look on Catelyn Stark's face as the music plays. great episode . I'm still waiting for Jon story to pick up and "the knives in the dark".

You guys who keep on bringing up spoilers like Lady Stoneheart and what's coming ahead need to control yourselves and respect those people who have chosen not to read ahead of the show. Control your impulses to be deuchebags.
