Game of Thrones "Robert's Rebellion" Fancast

Game of Thrones "Robert's Rebellion" Fancast

This is a fancast of Robert's Rebellion, in the books set 15 years before books began and 20 years before the show by HBO. Who would they cast as Young Ned Stark, Robert Baratheon, Rhaeger Targaryen, Catelyn Tully(Stark), Jaime Lannister.

I am a HUGE fan of "A Song of Ice & Fire" Series and a HUGE fan of Game of Thrones by HBO, I just finished A Dance with Dragons. Good book, can't wait for the 6th book.
Since Season 1 started, many fans wondered how come so MANY parts from the books have been trimmed, especially the "Robert's Rebellion". How come their was NO flashbacks of "The Mad King", deaths of Rickard Stark and Brandon Stark (Ned Stark's father and older brother). The "kidnapping" of Robert Baratheon's bethroned, Lyanna Stark by Rhaegar Targaryen.

The image above is the battle between Robert Baratheon and Rhaegar Targaryen. Which I would LOVE to see in a flashback or in a Prequel Film or Season.

As a fan of the Series and Books, I would have loved to see a couple flashbacks of the Rebellion. Again as a fan, I understood why HBO didn't film the flashbacks as they'll spend too much of the budget as most of Robb Stark's battle's back in Season 1 were shown in tv the battle's just finished or about to start and skips to the next scene.

However IF, HBO managed to convince a movie company to help them film 2-3 movies of "Robert's Rebellion", who would direct the films IF gotten made. OR HBO can do a 10 Episode Prequel Season, with some of the cast members will narrate their character's POV and getting a bigger budget.

Like Sean Bean and Mark Addy can return as Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon, set during Season 1 and the two old friends will talk about "The Good Old Days", referring to The Rebellion.
Jon Arryn calling Banners to oppose "The Mad King" as he is getting out of control, due to the Targaryen tradition of "Keeping the Bloodline Pure".
While eating, Robert talks about his battle with Rhaegar Targaryen.

I will like to see when Ned Stark enters the Throne Room and see's Jaime Lannister sitting on the Iron Throne with his sword covered in blood while "The Mad King" lies on the floor dead. THAT I will love to see in tv or film

The birth of Jon Snow, Ned Stark's bastard son and again Ned will refuse to reveal his mother, like in the books and show. Instead Ned will tell Robert of how Catelyn reacted as Ned returned to Winterfell with a bastard while Catelyn had a year old Robb and he told her that Robb and Jon will grow up as brothers. We all know how that turned out, but I believe Jon is NOT Ned's son but the child of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.

Besides if a TV Prequel or film was made, it will focus upon those truly involved in the Rebellion.

For the Directors for a possible 3 film should be the guy who directed the most episodes of Game of Thrones, Alan Taylor.
Why would I choose Alan Taylor to direct a 3 Film Prequel of Game of Thrones or Prequel Season.
1. He directed 6 of the 20 Episodes of Game of Thrones, which is more then any other Director had did so far. He could have directed MORE of Season 2, if he wasn't chosen to Direct THOR II.
2. Directed for such shows as ROME, Mad Men, Broadwalk Empire, The West Wing, The Sopranos. Which those shows were well recieved, a shame ROME ended after 2 Seasons.
3. He is chosen to Direct THOR II, which Kenneth Branagh, director of the first THOR film even admitted, Alan will do a great job on THOR II.

For a theme song for the Movie(s) or Season Prequel.

Fire and Ice by Within Temptation.

Reason- Such a good song and suits the Game of Thrones Universe. The video as well made me believe it can be used in the Series.
I love the theme song for the show but since this is a Prequel it should be given a different theme.

Enough of that, time to bring out the cast.

Chris Hemsworth as Eddard Stark.

Reason- Before you all say "Why did you cast Thor as a young Ned Stark", for starters I was going to cast Henry Cavill as Ned Stark on here as he and Richard Madden could pull off as Siblings or Father and Son. After seeing Hemsworth on THOR and The AVENGERS, I knew right away Chris Hemsworth is the best choice for Ned Stark in The Rebellion Era.
Other choices- Henry Cavill, Jonathon Ryes Meyers

Henry Cavill as Robert Baratheon.

Reason- I originally wanted Karl Urban as Robert Baratheon in the Rebellion Era, but a couple people thought he is a bit too old for the role. Cavill is a good actor and can pull off Robert Baratheon in the Rebellion Era, he was great on The TUDORS, Count of Monte Cristo, IMMORTALS. Cavill will own as a late 20 year old Robert.
Other choices- Chris Hemsworth.

Liam Neeson as Jon Arryn.

Reason- I know what you guys are thinking WHY Liam Neeson, for starters he is a fan of the show, second he can pull off the Mentor role as he did in such films as Star Wars Episode 1, Batman Begins, Kingdom of Heaven. Liam is probably the BEST and ONLY choice for Jon Arryn.
Other choices- Liam is the ONLY Jon Arryn to me.

Garret Hedlund as Stannis Baratheon

Reason- Garret Hedlund's acting has inproved over the years, I know he can pull off a young Stannis Baratheon as he is play those type of characters. If he was given a good character delevopment he can a do a good job as a young Stannis Baratheon.

Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister

Reason- Despite Charles age, he still looks like Tywin and can do make up and a bit of special effects to make him look bit younger. I know Tywin Lannister was neutral during the Rebellion but helped The Rebel's near it's end makes me put him as an Ally.

Alexander Skarsgard as Jaime Lannister.

Reason- I originally wanted Alexander Skarsgard as Rhaegar Targaryen but I felt he was more suited for a young Jaime Lannister because he is a good actor and can easily pull off Jaime Lannister is given a chance. If you are a True Blood fan, imagine Alexander as Jaime in that Kings Guard Armor sitting on the Iron Throne with "The Mad King's" blood on his sword, while "The Mad King" lies on the floor dead.
Other choices- Jared Padalecki.

Eva Green as Cersei Lannister.

Reason- Eva Green is a great actress in such films Kingdom of Heaven, Casino Royale, Golden Compass, she was really good in CAMELOT. After watching DARK SHADOWS with my grandfather (mother's side), I knew right away IF Game of Thrones was given a Prequel Season or film. Eva Green MUST be a young Cersei Lannister as I believe she can do a great job, not as a good job Lena Headley does in the show but can still do a good job.

Bryce Dallas Howard as Catelyn Tully

Reason- Bryce is such a good actress, she was good on As You Like It, Hereafter, The Help which she did a reall good job on. She has red hair already and is only a year older then Chris Hemsworth, but can do a goof job as a Robert's Rebellion Era Catelyn Tully.
Other choices- Yvonne Strahovski.

Christopher Plummer as Hoster Tully

Reason- Christopher Plummer is legendary actor and is one of the remaining few who can do great job on the roles their given at his age. If he gained a few pounds he will be a great Hoster Tully, father of Catelyn, Lysa and Edmure Tully. Chrisopher Plummer can easily pull off the role and is around the same age Hoster is in the Books.

Sam Clarfin as Petyr Baelish aka "Little Finger".

Reason- I do not know much of the guy, but on the "Song of Ice & Firce" Wikipedia. A few people made a fancast of a "Robert's Rebellion" Prequel Film. His name is put up on most of the 6, I read and was always chosen as a young Petyr Baelish. A few people said he can probably pull off the role. I would like to see the scene between Little Finger and Brandon dueling for Catelyn's hand but Brandon won and left a "gift" for Little Finger a long scar for him, to not again fight Brandon.

Viggo Mortenson as Rickard Stark.

Reason- I heard a rumor that Viggo was offered the role of Ned Stark but turned it down as he felt he wasn't right for the part. Not being rude but good, because Sean Bean will ALWAYS be Ned Stark to me and ALL of the fans of Game of Thrones. Doesn't mean he is a good choice to play Rickard Stark, father of Brandon, Eddard, Lyanna and Benjen Stark.

Jonathon Ryes-Myers as Brandon Stark

Reason- I wanted Jonathan Ryes Meyers as a younger Ned Stark but knew he was a bit too old for the role. However it didn't mean he was cut and Ned had an older brother Brandon Stark, who was originally suppose to marry Catelyn Tully but got killed before the Wedding could have started. IF given a Prequel, I will like to see the scene where Little Finger tries to fight for Catelyn's hand in marriage but Brandon wins.
Other choices- Tom Hiddleston.

Gemma Arterton and Orlando Bloom.
as
Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.

Reason for Gemma Arterton- I can see Gemma Arterton as Lyanna Stark, she is good actress in such films Quantum of Solace, Clash of the Titans, The Dissapperance of Alice Creed, Prince of Persia Sands of Time. After seeing her on those films, I knew she has to be Lyanna Stark as she is 3 years younger then Chris Hemsworth and she is the ONLY person I can imagine playing Lyanna. Gemma is perfect for the "Promise me Ned" scene as her voice keeps popping in my head when I think of that part.

Reason for Orlando Bloom- I originally wanted Alexander Skasgard as Rhaegar but knew right away. After having a Lord of the Rings Marathon (Blu-Ray extended cuts) with my siblings and cousin whom I consider a brother, told me "Doesn't Legolas look just like how George R.R Martin described Rhaegar Targaryen". Which made me choose Bloom as Rhaegar Targaryen, if you remember his hair on LOTOR, he looks like Rhaegar. If he was given a chance in a Movie or Prequel Season he will be a good Rhaegar Targaryen. He was good on Kingdom of Heaven, Pirates of the Carribbean Series, and ofcourse Lord of the Rings.

I have a hunch that Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen are the true parents of Jon Snow NOT Ned Stark. If you remember how Lyanna died in a "Bed of Blood" possibly meaning after giving birth and losing too much blood during the birthing. Ned Stark must have lied the first time in his life to protect his nephew from Robert's wrath as Robert would want infant Jon dead for being Rhager's son and would take it more personal if Lyanna was the mother.

I will try post an article on the site on my belief of Jon Snow being a Stark/Targaryen.

Last but not least.

Jeremy Irons as King Aerys II Targaryen aka "Aerys The Mad or The Mad King".

Reason- I love Jeremy Irons (not in that way), he is a great actor, awesome as Scar on The Lion King, Athos on Man in the Iron Mask, Brom on Eragon (not a good film but thought he was good on it). He is awesome on The Borgias, after watching Season 1, I knew he is perfect for "The Mad King". He even has that voice that can easily pull off "The Mad King".

THAT'S ALL FOLKS !!!

I hope you guys like my Fancast, I know it is not the best out there but it might encourage those on the site to make a "Robert's Rebellion" Era fancast.

On Friday evening, I will post my project I have been working on lately. It is a bit complicated story, I wrote 5 LONG stories to which I am trying to write into books.

For a little laugh here is a Game of Thrones meme.

That is the best casting I have ever seen on this site. Great Job! I would love to see this. I would even go to movies to view it.

I agree with you about Jon Snow's parents. All Ned Stark said when he brought Jon Snow to Winterfell was "this is a child of my blood," he never said it was his son, so this could be implied that Jon Snow is really a Targaryen.

Thanks you guys, @idontknow, you should post your Fancast on this, I will like to see who you cast.
@MagnusRex22, I started to suspect Jon might not be Ned's son after the scene Ned tells Jon "You might not have my name, but you have my blood". I thought it was an error during filming as Jon is said to be Ned's Bastard shouldn't have went like this "You might not have my name, but you are my son". Also when Jon was fighting that wight back in Season 1 and in the books, Jeor threw that lantern at them and Jon wasn't burned. Also if you saw the Season 2 Finale during Daenerys tests she see's The Wall (hint, hint).

Thanks Hellsing and 789

@789, I like your Fancasts, I didn't pick a choice for the Ghost Rider as I am not familiar with the character as I am more of DC guy then a Marvel.
If you are a Star Wars fan, check out my Star Wars Fancast, I made a month or 2, most of the cast is from Game of Thrones is on there lol.

This is the best fan-cast I've ever seen. I'm a huge fan of this series and I've thought for a long time that Jon wasn't Ned's son. Ned Stark was an honorable man and he didn't seem like the kind of guy who would cheat on his wife. To me it makes more sense that he found Lyanna and she gave him her and Rhaegar's baby. And since he couldn't tell people who the child belonged to since Robert would have tried to kill the child Ned did what an honorable man would do, he sacrificed his good name to protect his family.

Thanks Superlad89 for liking my fancast, to be honest I think George R.R. Martin planned Jon Snow to be a Stark/Targaryen. Because of how he described Rhaegar, I know Rhaegar wouldn't kidnap Lyanna and they must have been in love and ran off together.
That's what I think and also Daenerys has 3 Dragons, meaning 3 Dragons, 3 Targaryens remaining in Westeros.

I am going to post a Jon Snow Parentage Theory on the site asap. If you have not read Book 5 "A Dance with Dragons" DO NOT read the article to avoid spoilers.

Thanks for the heads up. I agree with you about him planning on Jon being a Stark and a Targaryen. I'm only on book three but I've watched both seasons of the show. If Jon does turn out to be a Targaryen I'm curious to see if that means he has a claim to the Iron Throne (although i guess not since technically he would still be considered a bastard since Lyanna wasn't Rhaegar's wife and he's still a member of the Night's Watch). So I guess that means either Dany or a possible third Targaryen would rule.

@Superlad89, their is a possible chance Rhaegar and Lyanna could have married. If Aegon the Conqueror married both of his sister's and many of Rhaegar's ancestor's married other women. Why wouldn't Rhaegar marry Lyanna is she was carrying his child.
Not to ruin Book 5 for you but it is a SHOCKER all I am going to say. How did you think of my cast for a Prequel Season or film.

If they did make a Prequel Season or film and showed the "Promise me Ned" scene. If they should the scene where Lyanna is in a "Bed of Blood", and the moment she says "Promise me Ned" you can hear a infant's cry.
Ned is later shown returning to Winterfell holding the same infant saying "He is the child of my blood". Skips 20 years showing that infant IS Jon Snow.

Imagine if that happened, might please or piss off A LOT of fans.

I enjoyed your casting for the younger versions of these characters. It's obvious you spent a lot of time thinking about this. I really like the idea of Chris Hemsworth and Henry Cavill as the young Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon respectively. I thought Garrett Hedlund was an interesting choice for Stannis. I like your second choice for Jaime Lannister. Jared Padalecki, in my opinion, looks more like a younger version of Nikolaj Coster-Wauld. I think your picks for Hoster Tully, Jon Arryn, Catelyn Tully, Cersei (and for some reason, at least to me, Padalecki and Eva Green look like they could be siblings more than Skarsgard) are great choices. Unfortunately the only thing i can remember seeing Claflin in was Snow White and the Huntsman so I can't really form an opinion of him. I'm huge fans of your choices for Rickard, Brandon, Lyanna, and Aerys (from what I've read about the Mad King in the books I think Jeremy Irons would do a great job). From the few times Rhaegar is mentioned in the books I think Orlando Bloom could do a decent job based off of how other characters describe him.

Thanks again Superlad89, I was originally going to put Hemsworth as Robert and Cavill as Ned. But noticed Chris Hemsworth looks more like a younger Sean Bean then Henry Cavill. Plus I believe if it does happen Chris can pull of Ned's character, also I would like to see how Cavill play a young Robert Baratheon.
Who wouldn't laugh watching the new Superman acting drunk and sleeping around with any woman he gets his hands on.

I hope someday HBO make a Prequel to Game of Thrones about "Robert's Rebellion" it would be AWESOME. Plus it would help those who didn't read the book to explain what happened before.

Plus MANY fans would want to see what was "Ned's Promise" to Lyanna was.

If you like STAR WARS, Superlad89, check out my fancast, I have some cast members from Game of Thrones in it.

Everything else, fantastic. My only problem being Jaime Lannister is supposed to be 15/16 at the time of the rebellion, so i don't really see alexander skaasgard doing that role.

i couldn't agree more, but i think that Liam Neeson is much more a choice for Lord Rickard Stark.

And, for the role of Robert Baratheon i would put Gerard Butler!

I agree with almost everyone, but i prefeer Ian Somerhalder as Rhaegar Targaryen. Is much better choice than Orlando Bloom.
