With Game of Thrones in the rearview mirror, HBO has started previewing some of their very promising upcoming slate, which includes a live-action adaptation of Philip Pullman's acclaimed young adult novel series, His Dark Materials.

Following their panel today at San Diego Comic-Con, HBO released an awesome new extended trailer for the upcoming series, offering tons of action-packed new footage of the star cast, which includes Dafne Keen (Logan), James McAvoy (Dark Phoenix), Ruth Wilson (Luther) and Lin Manuel-Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns); in action along with their dæmons.

An adaptation of Philip Pullman's acclaimed trilogy HIS DARK MATERIALS, is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction. The first series follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Lyra's search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children, and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets a determined and courageous boy called Will. Together they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living - and the dead - in their hands.
