The His Dark Materials Comic-Con@Home panel confirmed an Fall return for HBO's adaptation of Philip Pullman’s acclaimed trilogy of fantasy novels, and it's now been announced that Season 2 of the show will premiere on November 16th.
The accompanying poster spotlights Lyra (Dafne Keen), Will (Amir Wilson), Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson) and the rest of the main players from Season 1. The image also features Will's missing father John Parry (Andrew Scott), who was briefly introduced during the season finale.
Season 2 of His Dark Materials will adapt the middle book in Pullman's trilogy, "The Subtle Knife," which follows Lyra and Will to a mysterious town called Cittagazze as they're pursued by the forces of the Magisterium. New cast members include Terence Stamp (Superman II), Jade Anouka (Turn Up Charlie), Simone Kirby (Peaky Blinders) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who will provide the voice of John Parry's daemon (little Fleabag reunion there!).
Season 2 begins after Lord Asriel has opened a bridge to a new world, and, distraught over the death of her best friend, Lyra follows Asriel into the unknown. In a strange and mysterious abandoned city she meets Will, a boy from our world who is also running from a troubled past.
