Looks like an episode made on the cheap, one set. Hopefully the show will get better promising start though.

First, everyone's faces during the plane scene look SO HILARIOUS!!!!
Second, that first photo with Ward needs to become a model picture or something.

First episode was crap, this doesn't look that much better. The 2 scientist dweebs are annoying and the show overall feels and looks really bland. The pilot felt way too kid friendly and lighthearted. The super power "blender" thing was some of the goofiest shit I've seen in a long while. Hopefully the show gets edgier as its progresses but it probably won't. That new show The Blacklist looks like more of a Shield show than Shield. Shouldn't have expected something like that from an 8 o'clock show on ABC.

I wonder who attacked the plane.

Fitz and Simmons were the two most annoying characters in the pilot. Hopefully they have reduced roles in the episodes to come. Most of the SHIELD tech was downright cheesy as well: the weird crime scene flying scanners, the see-through plate that Ward used in the beginning, but Coulson's car Lola really took it to a new level of ridiculousness. I literally rolled my eyes at that moment.

But I'm not ashamed to say I'll continue watching because of Maria Hill and Skye. And Coulson too, of course.

Down the line they need to definitely start introducing minor C and D list superheroes and villains and more characters from the comics. Not more of the same "I got my powers from a doctor, temporary experiment" creature of the week nonsense. And if they do continue the creature of the week bullshit, it's gonna get old really fast. Every power tied back to the Chitauri, Super Soldier Serum, and Extremis. Get outta here with that nonsense.

^ coulson is undoubtedly an LMD ... life model decoy (stark used that phrase in the avengers) and i think they made coulson into one

Yeah if there's one thing I did like about the show was the tease of Coulson's story. Yeah he's definitely an LMD. Some things hinted at it. Tahiti, the Matrix car door dodge. Something's up. Oh yeah and Skye is HOT.

@jimoakley666 Sitwell is replacing Coulson in the movies. He will now become the main SHIELD agent (until something happens to him)

I am ECSTATIC over the fact that there are no ready-made character in it that fans can repeatedly get their undies in a bunch over. I think keeping it miles away from any semblance of character canon is the smartest thing they've done, given that this needs to be flexible over one season or ten.

Simply involving elements and organisations people know from the movies is very, very clever. I expressed concern previously that they wouldn't be able to tap into established stuff in a meaningful way to actually capitalise on people's investment in the movies. I wrongfully assumed actual characters would be the only way to do that.
