Deadline has revealed intriguing new details on
The Falcon and The Winter Solider Disney+ series, which will see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their MCU roles as Steve Rogers' best buds.
Perhaps most exciting is the news that
Civil War supporting players Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp are in talks to return as Zemo and Sharon Carter/Agent 13. Fans had figured we'd seen the last of Bruhl as the complex villain, but it looks like he'll be back to cause new problems for Sam and Bucky.
The report also mentions that "Mackie’s accepting the shield from Captain America at the end of
Avengers: Endgame will figure into the miniseries," but it doesn't sound like that's been 100% confirmed.
The 6-episode series will be directed by Emmy-nominated, BAFTA award-winning director Kari Skogland, who helmed episodes of
The Handmaid's Tale as well as the pilot for AMC’s upcoming
NOS4A2.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is expected to premiere on the streaming service in August of next year. What do you guys make of these updates? Be sure to share your thoughts down below.
