THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER: Check Out Some Spoiler Stills From Today's Penultimate Episode

Marvel Studios has released the first batch of stills from today's episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and they put the spotlight on characters like Captain America, Ayo, Bucky, and Sam Wilson.

Marvel Studios and Disney+ have released the first batch of stills from today's episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and a number of key moments are given the spotlight here.

As you can see below, Sam and Bucky's battle with John Walker/Captain America is highlighted, and we think it's fair to call that one of the show's best action sequences to date. After spending a little time with the two heroes back in the U.S., Dora Milaje member Ayo is also featured, as are Flag Smasher and Batroc (who it seems is now under the employ of a villainous Sharon Carter).

An official look at that big cameo hasn't been released yet, but you can find more details on that here

In our review of today's episode, we concluded by saying "Flag Smasher and her crew continue to underwhelm, but another strong character-driven episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier nicely sets the stage for a finale that is likely to be a game-changer for the MCU."

With only one episode left, it's inevitable that Marvel Studios plans to lay the groundwork for future stories with the finale (just look at WandaVision), but it will hopefully still make for satisfying viewing.

Check out these newly revealed stills from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier below:

Every Episode has had a very direct episode name to what the episode was about.

Sharon’s big episode was called “The Power Broker”, even though that name was basically a cameo.

Just Sayin’.

@Havenless - Well, if Sharon is the Power Broker than Batroc is there to get revenge on Karli more than Sam... whether he knows that or not.
Havenless
Havenless - 4/16/2021, 9:15 AM
@Chewtoy - Or maybe Sharon isn’t the broker, Elaine is, and Sharon is using Batroc as a Trojan horse to get to Elaine

@Havenless - yeah, I still tend to think that Sharon isn’t the Power Broker.

@Havenless - I figured her talking to Batroc was confirmation she's the power broker. Which is a shame for such a great show to have such a lame twist. She risked her life to fight Hydra in Winter Soldier and sacrificed her career to help Cap in Civil War. According to her speech at her aunt's funeral, she has such good morals because Peggy was such a great role model so her suddenly being a supervillain in this is really dumb.

This episode was my favorite of the season so far.

And Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine? What an amazing surprise man.

@Menks123 - I would've much preferred if she was playing Madame Masque instead of a character I've never heard of, but I'm interested to see what nefarious deeds she commits in the future.

@Menks123 - I've never seen her in anything dramatic so hopefully she pulls it off. I got vibes of 'evil Nick Fury', assembling her own team of superhumans.

@Luigi - She really just has to play a more overtly evil version of Selina Meyer, which seems to be the vibe they’re going for from the brief scene here. Her work on Veep was a great mix of comedy and drama.

And yeah, from what I know of the character, “evil nick fury” seems an apt job description.

So is it pretty much confirmed that The Flag Smashers and Karli Morgenthau had a virus-related subplot which got cut from the show because of COVID? Her motivations and allegiances seem to be all over the place.

Walker was beating the shit out of Sam and Buck and I don't like it. Bucky should've handed anyone in this show their own ass.

I actually felt sorry for Walker, I'm glad they didn't shy away from the governments treatment of veterans. I know Walker messed up but still.

I know Sharon has a plan and she's going nick fury right now with batroc so I'm not worried about her possibly being villainois.

I wish these showrunners and actors and stuff would stop hyping up these episodes because I was so giddy to see this one and it wasn't really emotional and the cameo was rather underwhelming

@MyCoolYoung - I do 1000% agree with the Bucky part. He should have absolutely destroyed Walker, but maybe he is still just holding some of that in still because he doesn't want to embrace the Winter Soldier in him.

@Menks123 - could be. I just know he was mad at Walker for the whole shield thing and this was personal I thought he would go in there on business but it can make sense he'd hold back since he has unresolved trauma as it pertains to his time as the winter soldier

@MyCoolYoung - Bucky should've handed anyone in this show their own ass.

To be fair, Bucky was holding back since he doesn't want to be/fears being the Winter Soldier anymore while Walker was out for blood. But yes, Walker got done dirty with that LTH discharge, though I guess at the same time straight murderizing a dude begging for his life on live tv that was pretty much the best case scenario for him. Still want to know what happened in Afghanistan, though.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 4/16/2021, 9:51 AM
@Reeds2Much - I was hoping we'd get that when he was snapping in court. I do get the murder especially considering what he was supposed to represent. I feel like it's reactionary based upon them being able to see it and not because they actually care.

If he was in Afghanistan and did that they wouldn't care. The public must be outraged so they are as well.

I do get that about Bucky, I just thought with how mad he was about the shield and it being in walkers hands he would've came out with more fight

Gotta love the 80's style training montage where Sam gets up to speed in no time flat. You too can be Captain America with hard work, dedication and training...for a day.

Other than that, it was a great episode.

@inkniron - I mean it didn't seem like it was one day. The transitions and his outfit changes indicated it was a few days. And let us not forget that Sam is a skilled combatant and has been for years. His only issue seemed to be throwing and catching the shield.

So “that person” is the mysterious cameo played by a well known actor? I’ll be honest I didn’t know the character until I read about “that person” on the internet and I didn’t recognize the actor either. When “that person’s” name showed up in the credits it was a name I have heard before but looking at “that person’s” wiki page I guess I haven’t seen “that person” that much.

So John Walker was really interesting this episode. Like for a large portion of his life his job has been to follow the orders of his superiors and then they gave him the mantle of Captain America, an impossible standard to live up to, and he’s been a complete failure at every point in his Captain America journey. And he can’t admit to failure because admitting to failure flies in the face of the fact that his life purpose is to get the job done even if it’s some horrible thing he doesn’t like to think about he did overseas. So he doubles down and is entitled and angry whenever anyone questions him. He can’t give up the shield because his superiors told him he deserved it, he can’t admit he killed the wrong guy to Lemar’s family, and in the courtroom scene he seems so broken and betrayed by his government and he can’t admit what he did wrong because as he’s rationalizing it in his mind he has been doing what they asked him to do.

I knew John Walker was going to give Sam and Bucky the hands, but I didn't know it was going to get as brutal as it did. He was genuinely 5 seconds away from saying the France line.
