The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ TV series was originally slated to being filming on location in Puerto Rico today, however, the shoot has been canceled by Marvel Studios following last week's disastrous earthquakes.

Marvel reportedly doesn't plan to film in Puerto Rico at a later date, and will now seek an alternative location. There's no word on whether this unfortunate event will cause the series' late-2020 premiere to be delayed.

Starring in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in the titular roles, along with Emily VanCamp's Sharon Carter and Daniel Bruhl's Captain America: Civil War villain, Helmut (Baron) Zemo. Making their MCU debut is Wyatt Russell as John Walker aka U.S. Agent, a character from the pages of Marvel Comics that becomes the federal government's unhinged replacement for Steve Rogers. Other characters from the comics are also rumored to appear but are unconfirmed.

All of our prayers are with the people of both Puerto Rico and Australia.

That really sucks - Puerto Rico could use the revenue generated by filming there - of course safety comes first - hopefully all will stay quiet on the island for the people

Interesting, shows and movies always film in or around San Juan & that area was pretty much unscathed by the quakes, but I'm glad they took the safety first. My hometown indefinitely postponed a festivity till this all passes.

To the other Boricuas here. Are you ok? Is your family safe?

Damn, Puerto Rico can't catch a break! I was there several years ago, and it was one of the best weekends I'd had in my travels. The people, the food, the nightlife were just top notch.

I hope they can get things on track, but you worry about hurricane season, which is fast approaching.

I'm from the island and it has not been easy. More so with the constant tremors we have been experiencing. I guess other places in the world are going through their own stuff as well, so the whole planet needs a break. It kinda feels like Galactus is having his way with this planet.

It actually means a lot the support that you guys show in here. I've visited this website for years now. I wonder which locations they had in mind to use for the series.
