Last Friday's episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier ended with John Walker snapping and using Captain America's shield to brutally beat one of the Flag Smashers to death. Earlier this week, a new trailer was released teasing a showdown between Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and the new Cap, and we see more of that confrontation in this low-res sneak peek.
This clip makes it clear that The Falcon has finally decided that Walker is unfit to wield the shield, and it looks like a full-blown brawl is set to break out as the two Avengers attempt to take it from him.
Now that this Captain America has taken the Super Soldier Serum, he'll make for a formidable opponent. Bucky is his equal, but Sam doesn't have superpowers, so he'll need the backup. Whether he ultimately decides to take the shield himself remains to be seen, but after what he learned about Isaiah Bradley, it's hard to imagine The Falcon will want anything to do with the serum.
Directed by Kari Skogland with Malcolm Spellman as head writer, the six-episode series stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Brühl, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Erin Kellyman, Adepero Oduye, Amy Aquinom, and Danny Ramirez. The first four episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier are now streaming on Disney+.
