Earlier today, the first social media reactions for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier surfaced online. So far, it sounds like we're in for a treat, and in my take, I said that, "like [WandaVision], this is something new from [Marvel Studios]. A character study mixed with blockbuster visuals, it's a slow burn, but a showcase for Mackie and Stan."
The show's two leads actually receive the spotlight on a couple of new Empire Magazine covers.
Nothing mind-blowing is revealed here, but there's no denying that the two heroes look great together. Whether their team-up will last is another matter, of course, especially as the trailers and TV spots have all made it clear that without Steve Rogers around, they really don't get along.
This dynamic promises to be a highlight in the Disney+ series, and we're going to have much more to share with you about this one over the next week (our review will land next Thursday).
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, a.k.a. The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. The Winter Soldier. The pair, who came together in the final moments of Avengers: Endgame, team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities...and their patience.
Directed by Kari Skogland with Malcolm Spellman serving as head writer, the series also stars Daniel Brühl as Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker.
