LOKI Season 2 Brief Clip Sees The God Of Mischief Reunite With Sylvie As Part Of McDonald's Tie-In

Following some intriguing social media hints, McDonald's has now confirmed it will be releasing Loki-branded Sweet n' Sour sauce starting on August 14.

It looks like this might be part of a larger tie-in with movies and TV shows the iconic fast food chain has appeared in. However, we're definitely intrigued about why that particular condiment has been linked specifically to Loki's upcoming second season.

As part of the announcement, we have a brief clip showing the Variant Loki and Sylvie once again coming face-to-face. Now she's no longer being pursued by the TVA, the God of Mischief who killed He Who Remains and unleashed the Multiverse (along with all those Kang Variants) is now working in a Mcdonald's in the 1970s!

We're sure that will be a huge part of Loki season 2 and expect more to be revealed over the next couple of months.

You can take a closer look at this new promo below.

Loki season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

The series stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan and Owen Wilson.

Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani direct episodes. The Head Writer is Eric Martin.

Loki season 2 begins streaming on October 6, exclusively on Disney+.

Cool clip. Those of you old enough to remember that 80s/90s-ish McDonalds employee uniform and restaurant interior ... they [frick]ing nailed it. Miss those days when you could only order in front of a human -- instead of you doing the order-taking work for them.

@GeneralZod -

I personally prefer the self-service, as I don't like having to deal with people. And I work in customer service too...

@MosquitoFarmer - Interesting perspective. To me, time (no pun intended) is valuable. The order-and-wait experience at McDs -- whether drive-thru or inside -- is easily two or three minutes longer, on average, than before Covid. They want fewer people inside (unless it's Uber Eats picking up an order) and more people in the drive-thru line checking their IG accounts while they wait. I think that's the purpose of this clip, is to remind us how much it changed (in a relatively short period of time).

@MosquitoFarmer - BTW, in the clip, i'm going to say 70s or 80s time period (not 90s). Take a look at the old-school cash register in front of Sylvie.

@GeneralZod - Having said what I said, I also do miss the nostalgia of how things were when I was growing up. It was more pleasant to deal with people, as people were generally more pleasant. Nowadays, no one goes to such places looking for service, never mind great lovely service, and a nice family experience. My local McDonald's just renovated; has 6 self-service kiosks, a delivery pick-up station, an order/online/kiosk pick-up station, and one register with no menu posted anymore.

@GeneralZod - Fast food restaurants were just different back in the 80s and 90s.

Pizza Hut dine in was fine cuisine.

McDonald’s had the play area, cool promotions (like that Batman Forever bacon burger), and quality collectible Happy Meal Toys.

Wendy’s had the cool atriums to sit in.

Taco Bell had the .69, .79, .99 menus with a vast majority of the menu on it.

Dairy Queen was popping up all over the place with their Blizzards.

Subway was getting big and inventing the chain sandwich restaurant.

They were good times.

@MosquitoFarmer - Good summation. They have become grab-and-go pit-stops. Non-restaurant kitchens. I appreciate times and preferences have changed, and the overwhelming number of consumers are under 40, but it is a strange feeling when you place your order on the app or the kiosk, and then for whatever reason you need to speak to one of the workers there ("cashiers" are gone), and the worker and the other patrons standing there look at you funny for speaking to a worker. Oh well. As long as I'm ticking, I will remember Friday night dinners at the local McDs with my mom, dad and brother at around 6:30 pm, after my dad got home from work around 6:00 pm. That was always a great way to end the school week and start the weekend. @mountainman
